APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />An application for the Police Department from 'C�rol :joanb�:Eassnacht-1was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Steven Molnar, representing the St. Joseph CountyHealth Department was <br />not present at the meeting. Rx. Molnar is on vacation. <br />APPOINTMENT: FIRE DEPARTMENT (DUANE R. RADZIKOWSKI ) <br />Duane R. Radzikowski, having made application for membership' n the..Fire <br />Department, and having fulfilled the requirements of the Firemen's <br />Pension Fund and said applicant having been recommended by the:'Ftre <br />Chief and accepted by the Pension Fund, the Board finds as follows: <br />Based upon the recommendation of the Fire Chief and aceeptance by <br />the Firemen's Pension Fund, the Board rules that Duane R. Radzikowski <br />be appointed to the Fire Department on a probationary basis for a period <br />of nine months, effective July 1, 1963 <br />During this probationary period Mr. Radzikowski shall learn all Rules <br />and Rdgulations of the Fire Department and shall conduct himself on and <br />off duty in a manner becoming a member of the Fire Department. <br />Two weeks before the end of the first six months, ithere will be submitted <br />to this Board a Report stating whether this applicant is capable to <br />continue. Two weeks prior to the end of the nine month probationary <br />period, there shall be submitted to this Board a second Report on <br />the applicant's perf6fmance as a probationary fireman. <br />If these Reports are satisfactory, the applicant shall be appointed <br />a full fireman at the end of the nine month's-probationary period. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( SUBSTANDARD DIVISION) HEARINGS_ <br />Comes now Mrs. Yates Paar, with reference to property located at 1604 <br />Longley. This property was damaged by fire and Mrs. P_aar'_stated that <br />she -had just received her insurance payment due because of the fire. <br />When asked to show cause why the property, which has been condemned, <br />has not been repaired. <br />After hearing Mrs. Paar and Mr. Grabarz, the Board continued this <br />until September 31, 1963 at which time the exterior of the dwelling <br />must be up to standard. <br />With reference to property being purchased by Clara Thomas on Land <br />Contract, formerly owned by James J. Cauffman, repair orders have been <br />ignored. This property is located at 317 S. Kentucky Street. <br />After hearing the details concerning this property, the Board continued <br />the hearing until August 5, 1963. <br />With reference to property owned by Claude Weldy, located at 416 E. <br />Paris Street, the Sub -Standard Division was directed to proceed with <br />demolition order. <br />With reference to property owned by Mr. Rightley of St. Clair Shores, <br />Michigan, said property being located at 122 E. Paris Street, W. <br />Grabarz informed the Board that a letter sent via Certified Mail, return <br />receipt requested, had not yet been acknowledged and no return receipt <br />has been received. <br />
