APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARTMENT An application for the Police Department from 'C�rol :joanb�:Eassnacht-1was accepted and ordered placed on file. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REPRESENTATIVE Mr. Steven Molnar, representing the St. Joseph CountyHealth Department was not present at the meeting. Rx. Molnar is on vacation. APPOINTMENT: FIRE DEPARTMENT (DUANE R. RADZIKOWSKI ) Duane R. Radzikowski, having made application for membership' n the..Fire Department, and having fulfilled the requirements of the Firemen's Pension Fund and said applicant having been recommended by the:'Ftre Chief and accepted by the Pension Fund, the Board finds as follows: Based upon the recommendation of the Fire Chief and aceeptance by the Firemen's Pension Fund, the Board rules that Duane R. Radzikowski be appointed to the Fire Department on a probationary basis for a period of nine months, effective July 1, 1963 During this probationary period Mr. Radzikowski shall learn all Rules and Rdgulations of the Fire Department and shall conduct himself on and off duty in a manner becoming a member of the Fire Department. Two weeks before the end of the first six months, ithere will be submitted to this Board a Report stating whether this applicant is capable to continue. Two weeks prior to the end of the nine month probationary period, there shall be submitted to this Board a second Report on the applicant's perf6fmance as a probationary fireman. If these Reports are satisfactory, the applicant shall be appointed a full fireman at the end of the nine month's-probationary period. BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( SUBSTANDARD DIVISION) HEARINGS_ Comes now Mrs. Yates Paar, with reference to property located at 1604 Longley. This property was damaged by fire and Mrs. P_aar'_stated that she -had just received her insurance payment due because of the fire. When asked to show cause why the property, which has been condemned, has not been repaired. After hearing Mrs. Paar and Mr. Grabarz, the Board continued this until September 31, 1963 at which time the exterior of the dwelling must be up to standard. With reference to property being purchased by Clara Thomas on Land Contract, formerly owned by James J. Cauffman, repair orders have been ignored. This property is located at 317 S. Kentucky Street. After hearing the details concerning this property, the Board continued the hearing until August 5, 1963. With reference to property owned by Claude Weldy, located at 416 E. Paris Street, the Sub -Standard Division was directed to proceed with demolition order. With reference to property owned by Mr. Rightley of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, said property being located at 122 E. Paris Street, W. Grabarz informed the Board that a letter sent via Certified Mail, return receipt requested, had not yet been acknowledged and no return receipt has been received.
