After due examination, the bid was awarded to A & J Demolition <br />Company for $275.00 with salvage. <br />Comes now Eles Shum, 2119 Bertrand Street who requests 9 months <br />in which to bring property up to standard. <br />Request denied but Boad will allow up to 4 months to complete <br />repairs. Owner directed to return in one week to report what <br />arrangements have been made to repair this property. <br />Continued until May 20, 1963. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT:_ PROMOTIONS <br />Following the recommendation of Police Chief Harman, the following <br />promotions in the Police Department were approved: <br />Lt. Melvin Pasalich will be promoted to rank of Captain and remain <br />in command of the Vice Squad, effective May 169, 1963. <br />Detective Sergeant Neal Hans will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant <br />and take command of the Juvenile Aid Bureau, effective .May 169 1963. <br />Officer Donald Niezgodski will be promoted to the rank of Detective <br />Sergeant, effective June 1, 1963. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BONDS( R. FRY AND M. VANKIRK) <br />A Special Police Bond for Raymond Fry, employee of The South Bend <br />Tribune, was approved and ordered placed on file. <br />A Special Police Bond for Maria Van Kirk was approved and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />PETITION: REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS - <br />A Petition from residents of Beale Street was submitted to the <br />Board.
