`2 <br />May 13, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />May 13, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />OPENING AND AWARDING OF BIDS: BUILDING DEPARTMENT SEDANS <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and bids for <br />2 sedans for the Building Department were opened and read aloud. <br />Proofs of Publication from The South Bend Tribune with affidavit signed <br />by Robert DeLong and The Record with affidavit signed by W. Treas. <br />It appearing that Newman & Altman has the lowest and best bid, the <br />Board hereby awards the contract for 2 Cars to Newman & Altman, <br />subject to conformity to the specifications. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE ( OFFICE ENGINEERS <br />The Board approved Certificate of Insurance from Office Engineers, <br />indemnifying the City of South Bend for injury and/or property damage <br />in connection with the construction of an overhang at their office <br />building on Michigan Street, South Bend, Ind. The Certificate was <br />ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: CONSTRUCTION OF CANOPY ( WESTERN AVE., SUPERMARKET) <br />The Board approved the construction of an overhanging- canopy on a <br />supermarket now under construction at 2602 Western Avenue, subject to <br />compliance with the Building Codes and upon receipt of Proof of <br />Insurance indemnifyi-ng-t-he--City of --South Bend for individual accident <br />[1 <br />I <br />
