April 15, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />April 159 1963 at 10:00`A.M.- All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />KIWANIS CLUB REQUEST: CAMP MILLHOUSE PROMOTION <br />Comes now Mr. F. E. Allman, 145 S. Ellsworth Place, representing the <br />Kiwanis Club, with a request that the Club be permitted to sell a <br />specially constructed sign to be used by motorists whose vehicles are <br />stalled on streets and highways to warn other motorists that they <br />are in need of help. This would be a safety measure and the signs <br />would read "Help Needed„ and/or other warning messages. <br />The -funds collected from these signs would be used exclusively to <br />support Camp Millhours-,- the Glub'ls charity project. <br />Mr. Allman requested that this q program be held in conjunction with <br />the annual Safety Check project sponsored by the City. <br />After -hearing Mr. Allman, the Board ruled that Mr. Allman meet with <br />Police Chief Harman and discuss this matter fully. The Board will <br />postpone action on this request, pending recommendation from the <br />Chief of Police. <br />Hearing continued until April 22, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVE ) <br />Comes now Mr. Joseph D. Zappia, owner of a house located at 2110 <br />E. Edison Road and requests permission to move said house from <br />this address to 2016 E. Edison Road. <br />Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, informed the Board that <br />the house has been checked by Mr. C-rabarz,and meets requirements of <br />the building code. Mover is Emmons & Son. <br />Since no remonstrances were filed with the Board and since no <br />remonstrators appeared, the house move was approved# subject to <br />the following conditions: , <br />All code provisions must be met. Sufficient insurance must be obtained. <br />House must be up to standard and ready for occupancy within 60 days. <br />House must be occupied n6t'�later than 90 days after move. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( ATTEND OONFERENCE ) <br />Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, requested permission to attend <br />a Building Officials Conference of America meeting in Memphis, Tennessee <br />from *ay 12 to May 171, 1963. He also requested permission for Mr. <br />Ted LeWandowdki and John Grabarz to attend. <br />The Board, having been informed that there is sufficient money in the <br />budget to meet the expenses granted permission for the employees listed <br />above to attend the meeting. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SLB-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS } <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department, and informs the Board that Mr. Overhold, owner <br />of property located at 2205 N. Huey Street had been requested to appear <br />
