,2 <br />March 25, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />March 25, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />OPENING OF BIDS_ FIRE DEPARTMENT AERIAL PLATFORM <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and bid for <br />the Fire Department aerial apparatus --was opened and read aloud. <br />Proofs of Publication from The South Bend Tribune with affidavit <br />signed by Robert DeLong and The Record with affidavit signed by <br />W. Joseph Doran were found sufficient. <br />The following bid was received: This was the only bid filed with the <br />Board: <br />Pitman Manufacturing Company <br />Pitman Road <br />Grandview, Missouri <br />1 - Pitman No. SFF065 65 ft. Snorkel aerial platform <br />mounted on 5-man cab -forward model International <br />Chassis, with all equipment and accessories per <br />specifications, complete $37,394.00 <br />Price quoted is F.O.B. South Bend, Indiana with <br />services of delivery engineer to test and instruct <br />personnel in care and use of apparatus. Prices net 30 <br />days. Delivery: 180 to 200 working days. <br />Bid Bond for 10,E of the Bid, signed by R. B. Sperry,Treas. <br />Non -collusion Affidavit, signed by R: B! Sperry, Treas. <br />The bid will be examined and, if specifications are met to the <br />satisfaction of the Board, will be awarded within the statutory <br />limits. <br />ACCIDENT REPORTS ,FIRE DEPT.) <br />Two non -injury accident reports were submitted to the Board, accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT HOUSE MOVE LINCOLNWAY TO WALNUT <br />Comes now John Grabarz, of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department, with a request to move a house owned by Dairy <br />Queen, Inc. from 1043 Lincolnway West to 616 N. Walnut Street. Mover <br />is Irvin Worden. <br />Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that permit for said move has been held <br />up pending action by the Board of Zoning Appeals for clarification of <br />a problem concerning a lot, the proposed site of the house move. <br />Mrs. Al Gember, 619 N. Walnut Street and Mrs. Roman Kopinski, 612 <br />N. Walnut Street appeared before the Board to object to the proposed <br />house move on the grounds that it will be detrimental to the neighbor- <br />hood. <br />Also appearing before the Board were F. J. Nimtz, attorney for the <br />owner, Dairy Queen, Inc., and Mr. Vaughn of Dairy Queen. Mr. Nimtz <br />assured the Board that the house will be brought up to standard in <br />compliance with all code requirements and that the case of the lot <br />boundaries will be heard at_.the__meating_.of the Zoning Appeals this <br />week. <br />
