9A <br />March 11, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />March 11, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vbuchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVES <br />(GREENLAWN TO OAKLAND - EDDY TO SUNYYMEDE ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department and requests permission to move a house from <br />1001 Greenlawn Avenue to 1114 Oakland. The owner is John Walton, the <br />mover is Lewis Mitschelen. Copy of a list of requirements to bring <br />house up to standard was submitted to the Board. <br />No remonstrances having appeared, the house move ,.was approved by the <br />Board, provided the house will be brought up to standard in accordance <br />with all Building Code providions so as to meet Building Department <br />requirements. <br />Comes now Mr. Arthur Anderson, 1108 Sunnymede Avenue, and submits a <br />Petition remonstrating against the proposed move of a house from <br />601 S. Eddy Street to 1107 Sunnymede,Avenue <br />The remonstrators_ state, in their $etition that they are opposed to the <br />move for the following reasons: <br />1. The house is not of the same age as other surrounding properties. <br />2. It is not in the state of repair as the houses in the immediate <br />area. <br />3. It will depreciate the value of the surrounding properties. <br />After hearing the petitioners, the Board advised them that the house <br />will meet all requirements to be brought up to standard. A list of <br />requirements was submitted by Mr. Grabarz. The Board further directed <br />Mr. Grabarz to meet with the petitioners immediately and explain the <br />conditions that must be met before approval of said house move will be <br />given. <br />Hearing continued until March 18, 1963. <br />The Petition and lists of: -requirements were ordered placed on file. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION: HEARINGS <br />Comes now Mr. Miller, a representative of Highland Cemetery Association, <br />which corporation is a party of interest in property located at 601 E. <br />Pennsylvania Avenue, owned by Ernest and Willowdene Miltenberger. <br />IF <br />Since this house is in a state of disrepair, the Board ruled as follows: <br />1. House must be barricaded to the satisfaction of the Sbb-Standard <br />Division by March 18. If this is not done, building will be demolished. <br />2. Sixty days from this date, or by May 20, 1963, house must be brought <br />up to standard. If not, demolition order shall be carried out. However, <br />if substantial compliance of this order has been done by May 20, 1963, <br />house will not be torn down. <br />With reference to a house located at 418 Cottage Grove Avenue, following <br />the recommendation of Mr. Grabarz, the Board directed that he proceed <br />with demolition order. <br />1 <br />1 <br />I I <br />
