13 4 <br />February 11, 1963 <br />'A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February 11, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />LICENSESS ST-__ JOSEPH,CDUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />The Board was advised by the City Controller that the deadline for <br />new licenses for restaurants in the City of South Bend are due on <br />February 1 of each year and that several restaurants do not have any <br />licenses. Mr. Stephen Molnar, Inspector for the Health Department, <br />appeared before the Board as a representative of the Health Department, <br />and was advised by the Board to notify the City Controller of any <br />unlicensed restaurants as of February 15, 1963. Violators will be <br />prosecuted under the city ordinance if they do not comply. <br />The Board is allowing this extension as a courtesy to establishments. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUBSTANDARD DIVISION ( HOUSE MOVE COMPLAINT) <br />Comes now Councilman Muszynski, to register a complaint about a recent <br />house move from 1105 Greenlawn Avenue to 261 N. Chicago Street. A <br />new proposal to move the house from 261 N. Chicago Street to a lot <br />north of 142 N. Chicago Street which is the south 40 feet of the north <br />80 feet of Lot 1017 of LaSalle Park, was requested. <br />Mr. Muszynski advised the Board that residents had received a notice <br />of the house move too late to thoroughly investigate this matter. <br />After hearing Mr. Muszynski and also Mr. Grabarz, Director of Sub - <br />Standard Division, it was the decision of the Board to continue this <br />matter for one week and to be certain that notices to residents with <br />reference to such hearings and house moves be mailed in ample time to <br />allow for a thorough investigation of these matters. <br />Mr. Willia Devine is the owner of the above -described property. <br />Comes now Rev. George Jones of 602 W. LaSalle Avenue with reference to <br />sub -standard property at 606 W. LaSalle Avenue, New Testament Babtist Church. <br />Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that Rev. Jore s had taken over this <br />property and that repair orders had been re -issued and that nothing <br />had been done, to date. <br />Rev. Jones requested additional time in order to do the repairs. <br />Request granted and hearing continued until April 299 1963. <br />John Grabarz requested permission to attend a meeting at Purdue University, <br />in connection with the Indiana County Surveyorst to be held on March 282 <br />1963. Mr. Grabarz has been scheduled to speak at the meeting. <br />Permission granted. <br />REVOCATION OF LICENSELHOOVER RECREATION HALL.) <br />Comes now Police Chief Harman and recommends to the Board that the license <br />to operate a pool room at 3403 W.'Washington Avenue, issued to Wiley <br />Hoover, be revoked. <br />Chief Harman advised the Board that the pool room was operated as a <br />"front" for gambling. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
