1-2 <br />January 21, 1963. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on M9nday, <br />January 21, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />OPEN BIDS: TRAFFIC ENGINEER HEAT LAMP VACUUM SIGN APPLICATOR <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and bid <br />for a Heft Lamp Vacuum Sign Applicator was opened. Proofs of <br />Publication from The South Bend Tribune with affidavit signed by <br />Robert DeLong and The Record with affidavit signed by W. Joseph <br />Doran were found sufficient. <br />The following Bid was received: <br />Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company <br />900 Bush Avenue <br />Saint Paul 6, Minn. <br />Opnn opening this Bid it was found that no Bid Bond or Certified <br />Check was included in accordance with regulations. <br />This Bid is disqualified and the advertisement for this piece of <br />equipment will be re -run on January 25, February 1, 1963. Bids <br />will be opened on February 4, 1963. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE_ <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( PICK-UP TRUCK $ STATION WAGON_} <br />Permission is granted to Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, to <br />advertise for one 1963 model ""ton Pick-up Truck, and one 1963 <br />model Station Wagon. <br />Advertisements will be placed on January 259 February 2, 1963. Bids <br />will be opened on February 4, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER INSTALL SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />Board approved the following installations: <br />2 Hour Time Limit Signs installed at 1112-1116 & 1122 <br />Mishawaka Avenue. <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE ASSOCIATES INVESTMENT CO. TUNNEL <br />The Board approved Certificates of Insurance from the Associates <br />Investment Company for installation, maintenance and use of a tunnel <br />under Ruskin Street. The insurance covers Bodily Injury Liability, <br />Property Damage Liability and a Certificate of Insurance issued by <br />Underwriters at Lloyd's, London for a limit of liability of $1,000,000 <br />each occurrence combined for bodily injuries and property damage in <br />excess of the limit of liability provided by the Company issuing `the,_ - <br />Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage. <br />The Certificates were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ATTEND CONFERENCE <br />Permission was granted to Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner and <br />Elwyn Fienhold to attend a conference at the Chicago Plumbing Testing <br />Laboratory in Chicago on January 26, 1963. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION HEARINGS <br />Comes now Mr. Joiner, owner of property located at 324 N. Huey Street, <br />and Mr. John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department. Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that he had met <br />with Mr. Joiner after the Board meeting of January 14 as directed by <br />the Board to ascertain whether property can be brought up to standard. <br />
