M <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that Mary Lee Williams had been ordered to <br />appear this date with reference to property located at 1216 S. <br />Franklin Street.and show cause why this house had not been repaired. <br />Since she failed to appear as ordered the Board directed Mr. Grabarz <br />to advertise for demolition bids. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER_- INSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS LAFAYETTE AND <br />JEFFERSON Mo. <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, submitted the following recommenda- <br />tion: <br />Demolition of the building at the northeast corner of Jefferson and <br />Lafayette and installation of an off-street parking facility at that <br />location renders the driveways at certain places useless. It is <br />recommended that parking meters be installed at the following location. <br />The time limit to be 60 minutes: <br />3 meters to be installed on the north side of the 200 block of <br />W. Jefferson just east of Lafayette Blvd. <br />1 meter across from 135 S. Lafayette Blvd. <br />1 meter across from 125 S. Lafayette Blvd. <br />This will .provide five additional on -street parking spaces in a <br />desirable area. <br />After due deliberation, the Board approved the above recommendation. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT ATTEND INSTRUCTOR'S SCHOOL - LEDERER <br />At the request of Fire Chief Alex Andrzejewski, the Board approved <br />Assistant Chief Carl B. Lederer's attendance at an Instructor's <br />Schbol at Purdue University on January 23 and 24, 1963. <br />APPLICATION FIRE DEPARTMENT L <br />An application from Peter Tyre Boykins for the Fire Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT SPECIAL POLICE 1 <br />The Board approved a Special Police Commission for Mr. Anthony L. <br />Boros, who is employed by the City of South Bend Sanitation Department <br />and ordered same placed on file. <br />APPLICATION POLICE DEPARTMENT An application for the Police <br />Department from Jerry Lee Irish was accepted and ordered placed on <br />file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT � STREET LIGHTS ) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of <br />the Electrical Department, the following installation was approved: <br />I - 4000 lumen street light at corner of Fremont and Bergan Streets. <br />STREET LIGi-1T OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered .placed on file. <br />1 <br />
