January 14, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />January 14, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ,( HOUSE MOVES <br />�GREENLAWN AVENUE TO CHICAGO STREET - 2 HOUSES <br />Comes now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and requests <br />permission for two house moves, as follows: <br />From 1105 Greenlawn Avenue to 261 Chicago Street. <br />From 1109 Greenlawn Avenue to 262 Chicago Street. <br />The owner of these dwellings Willis C. Divine, the mover is <br />Lewis Mitschelen. <br />Comes now Mr. Ed Stasiak of 253 N. Chicago Street, to ascertain <br />whether houses to be moved will be in good condition. Mr. Stasiak <br />contended that two houses located at 242 and 255 N..Chicago Street, <br />had been condemned a,nd it was his opinion that the houses in <br />question had been moved from the Sample Street project. <br />After hearing Mr. Stasiak, Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the <br />houses to be moved from Greenlawn to Chicago Street will be checked <br />and will meet all code requirements. <br />The Board further stipulated that both the mover and the owner will <br />have, insurance for injury and property damage and all property line <br />laws will be observed. A new requirement of the Board will be that <br />the owner and mover will provide someone :acquainted with traffic to <br />supervise the moving and assist in such moves. <br />With reference to the houses located at 242 and 255 N. Chicago Street, <br />Mr. Grabarz advised that Board and Mr. Stasiak that they had not been <br />condmned and if they have -become sub -standard since the move they will <br />be checked and brought up to standard. <br />Mr. Smith directed Mr. Grabarz to meet with Mr. Stasiak immediately <br />after the Board meeting on this date and submit a report by January <br />21 concerning this meeting. <br />The house moves described above were approved. <br />SUBSTANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />With reference to property located at 324 and 326 N. Huey Street, <br />purchased by Mr. William Joiner, Mr. Joiner appeared concerning the <br />possibility of bringing these properties up to standard. <br />Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the house located at 326 N. Huey <br />may be repairable but that the one located at 324 is in bad condition. <br />Mr. Joiner requested additional time to bring property up to standard <br />and was given a continuance until July 8, 1963 in order to bring the <br />house located at 326 N. Huey up to standard. <br />With reference to his petition to bring the house at 324 N. Huey up <br />to standard, this petition was continued for one week so that Mr. <br />Grabarz and the owner may meet and discuss this possibility. <br />
