January 14, 1963 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, January 14, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT ,( HOUSE MOVES �GREENLAWN AVENUE TO CHICAGO STREET - 2 HOUSES Comes now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and requests permission for two house moves, as follows: From 1105 Greenlawn Avenue to 261 Chicago Street. From 1109 Greenlawn Avenue to 262 Chicago Street. The owner of these dwellings Willis C. Divine, the mover is Lewis Mitschelen. Comes now Mr. Ed Stasiak of 253 N. Chicago Street, to ascertain whether houses to be moved will be in good condition. Mr. Stasiak contended that two houses located at 242 and 255 N..Chicago Street, had been condemned a,nd it was his opinion that the houses in question had been moved from the Sample Street project. After hearing Mr. Stasiak, Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the houses to be moved from Greenlawn to Chicago Street will be checked and will meet all code requirements. The Board further stipulated that both the mover and the owner will have, insurance for injury and property damage and all property line laws will be observed. A new requirement of the Board will be that the owner and mover will provide someone :acquainted with traffic to supervise the moving and assist in such moves. With reference to the houses located at 242 and 255 N. Chicago Street, Mr. Grabarz advised that Board and Mr. Stasiak that they had not been condmned and if they have -become sub -standard since the move they will be checked and brought up to standard. Mr. Smith directed Mr. Grabarz to meet with Mr. Stasiak immediately after the Board meeting on this date and submit a report by January 21 concerning this meeting. The house moves described above were approved. SUBSTANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) With reference to property located at 324 and 326 N. Huey Street, purchased by Mr. William Joiner, Mr. Joiner appeared concerning the possibility of bringing these properties up to standard. Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the house located at 326 N. Huey may be repairable but that the one located at 324 is in bad condition. Mr. Joiner requested additional time to bring property up to standard and was given a continuance until July 8, 1963 in order to bring the house located at 326 N. Huey up to standard. With reference to his petition to bring the house at 324 N. Huey up to standard, this petition was continued for one week so that Mr. Grabarz and the owner may meet and discuss this possibility.
