TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD SPUR - W. WASHINGTON ) <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, submitted a copy of a letter <br />written to Mr.,William Baerthlein, Division Engineer --of the New York <br />Central Railroad, Chicago, Illinois, concerning the condition of the <br />New York Central spur track on w. Washington Avenue. Mr. Hazinski <br />requested prompt attention to this condition. <br />Mr. Hazinski requested a continuance on this matter to allow more <br />time for Mr. Baerthlein to investigate this situation and report what <br />.action will be taken to correct the situation. <br />ryl.ttiL ucranlmcni S !J. 1YV61E N - fflUVL VV1 Vr- .'11 i L11VU10 , J <br />Comes now Chief Harman and requests the Board to permit. Officer D. Nowak <br />to move to 23810 Marquette Blvd., about one mile from the city limits. <br />Chief Harman informed the Board that Officer Nowak had been a member <br />of the Police Department approximately 12+ years.which would be a <br />sufficient term of service to move outside the city limits. <br />Permission granted. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT -( ATTEND FED. NARCOTICS SCHOOL CHIEF HARMAN & HUNT_) <br />Permission was granted Chief Harman and Inspector Hunt to attend -a <br />Federal Narcotics School in Washington, D.C. from October 29, 1962 through <br />November 9, 1962. <br />The Board was assured that there was sufficient money in the budget for <br />cost of room and board. The school is free. <br />APPLICATION ( POLICE AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL <br />An application from Mrs. Mildred Lucille Rydzinski for the Police <br />Auxiliary School was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT ( PARCEL OF LAND - FIRE STATION PURPOSE ) <br />A letter from Fire Chief Alex Andrzejewski to the Board recommended that <br />a Parcel of Land beginning at the intersection.of the South right-of-way <br />line of Ireland Road and the West right-of-way line of Lafayette Boulevard, <br />be purchased for an additional Fire Station was examined by the Board <br />and referred to the City Planning Commission for investigation and <br />report. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the <br />Electrical Department, the installation of a street light at 1325 N. <br />Adams Street was approved. <br />Following the recommendation of Mr. Horvath, a request for an additional <br />street light at the intersection of Napoleon Boulevard and Foster:Street <br />was denied. This request was submitted by Mr. George V. Schmitt. <br />Mr. Horvath recommended that the foliage around the existing street light <br />at this location be trimmed in order to afford better lighting. <br />The Board directed Mr. Horvath to take the necessary steps necessary to <br />have foliage trimmed in accordance with his recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
