M <br />October 1, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of:Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />October 1, 1962 at 1000 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and.approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - ATTEND OONFERENCE <br />Permission was granted to Alwyn Feinhold, Chief Plumbing Inspector in <br />the #bilding Department to attend the conference of the American Society <br />of SanitM Engineers to be held from October 13 to October 20, 1962 <br />In Little nock Arkansas. <br />SUB -STANDARD, DIVISION ( HEARINGS) <br />Comes now Leo Cook, attorney, representing Joseph Binder, with reference <br />to property located at 607 W. Wayne Street, and requests additional <br />time in order to get property up to standard, if feasible, or arngte <br />for the property to be torn down. <br />It was the decision of the Board that Mki Binder be given until November <br />19 1962 to get contracts let and at least 1/3 of the work completed <br />and until December 10 1962 to complete the work. <br />With reference to property located at 106 and 106* S. St. Louis Blvd., <br />a letter from Mrs. Dorothy V. Grose was submitted to the Board in which <br />Mrs. those stated that she has been trying to comply with the Board's <br />request to the best of her ability by cutting grass and weeds, all rubbish <br />cleaned up inside and out, fumigated both houses and sprayed and dusted <br />with bug killers. <br />Mrs. Grose requested additional time, preferably until the six'.month::r <br />waiting period following mortgage foreclosure has expired during which <br />time Mr. Grose can reclaim property, unless Mrs. Grose can obtain a <br />quit claim deed. Mrs. Grose asks for an extension of three months. <br />Councilman Paul Krueper appeared on behalf of the residents in the area <br />to ascertain that this matter is disposed of forthwith for the benefit <br />of the residents in the area. <br />After reading Mrs. Grose's letter and after hearing Mr. Krueper and <br />Mr. Grabarz of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department, <br />it was the decision of the Board to continue this hearing for two weeks. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to check this matter with Mr. Place of Place & <br />Company and to write to Mr. Grosse present legal owner, and advise him. <br />of the Board's action in this matter. <br />Mr. Grabarz presented a progress report on property owned by Rev. Bowles, <br />located at 527 Euclid Avenue. Mr. Grabarz informed the Boated that Rev. <br />Bowies had been granted an extension of time on this property to bring <br />property up to standard, if feasible and to obtain necessary -estimates <br />for this work. Rev. Bowles was ordered to make a report to the Board <br />by October 1, 1962. <br />Since he failed to appear or be represented, it was the decision of -the <br />Board that the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department proceed <br />to advertise for bids for demolition, since condemnation order will remain <br />in effect. Mr. Grabarz was directed to so notify Rev. Bowles of this <br />decision. <br />
