131 <br />ATTEND DRILL RESERVE UNIT-T POLICE DEPT. R. E. SOOTT) <br />Permission was granted Officer R. E. Scott to attend a two day drill on <br />July 21, 22, 1962 at Ft. Benj.--Harrison in Indianapolis with Reserve Unit. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVE • 220 W NAVARRE) <br />Comes now Verner Lane, -Building Commissioner, and requests permission <br />to move a house from 220 W. Navarre Street to 2429 W. Bertrand, Lot <br />209 Kaley's 2nd Sub. The mover is lrwin Worden. <br />Appearing before the Board with reference to the above house move <br />were Lela and George Milner of 2502 Bertrand Street. Mr, and Mrs. <br />Milner advised the Board that they had received notice of such a move <br />on Saturday, July 14, 1962 and requested additional time in which to <br />investigate the proposed move. <br />Verner Lane informed the Board that notices had been delivered by hand <br />on Saturday, July 14, 1962. <br />Inasmuch as the Board was of -the opinion that not --sufficient time had <br />been given to adjacent residents and property owners on -'Bertrand Street <br />that such a house move was pending, the move was continued until July <br />23, 1962. <br />The Board further advised those present interested in such a house move <br />that the house move would be approved if it was found that the mover <br />had met all requirements Aet down for a house move. <br />BUILDI'_VG DEPARTMENT SUB -STANDARD DIV. ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now Miss Pearl Daar with reference to property located at 513-515 <br />E. Pennsylvania Avenue to show cause why she has not complied with <br />repair orders for the property. <br />Since property has not been brought up to standard as ordered, the Board <br />directed that demolition orders be prepared and carried out. <br />With reference to property owned by George S. Blair located at 502 <br />S. 29th Street, Mr. Grabarz was directed to do all things necessary <br />to have property cleaned up. <br />At the request of Mr. Grabarz, property located at 1802 Randolph Street, <br />owned by Ottie Mae O'Hara for which bids were to be let for demolition <br />was discussed, and a continuance of 30 days was granted for the letting <br />of such bids. (Property in care of Mrs. Breckenridge, Mrs. O'Hara's daughter). <br />A progress report by Mr. Grabarz on property located at 730 W. LaSalle <br />Avenue, owned by Donald and Nellie Carpenter was given to the Board. <br />Inasmuch as Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter failed to appear at this meeting as <br />directed, and since the repair orders have not been carried out, it was <br />the decision of the Board to order such property demolished. <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURES MONTHLY REPORT <br />A Report for the month of June, 1962 from the Department of Weights & <br />Measures was accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:40 A.M. <br />Attest: Antony J.
