J� July 2, 1962 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, July 2, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. OPENING OF BIDS ( FIRE DEPARTMENT ---PUMPER The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and bids for the 1,500 Gallon pumper for the Fire Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of Publication from The South Bend Tribune and The Record were found sufficient. The following bid was received"and the following Company submitted a letter concernang-;the bid on Pumper: The Seaarave Corporation 860 S. Northwest Highway Barrington, Ill. Letter submitted advising the Board that this Company does not manufacture 1,500 G.P.M. fire pumper such as is called for in the specifications. The letter was ordered placed on file. Maxim Motor Company Middleboro, Mass. 1 - Maxim Custom Built Pumper - Model F-26215 1500 Gallon Triple Combination Motorized Pumping Fire Apparatus in Accordance with speciflcations Complete $301,590.74 Above price includes radio, as per specifications, installed. If uninstalled basis desired, deduct from above 45.00 Bid Bond for $39300.009 signed by Irene Prange, Attorney in Face and countersigned by Herb Bietz. Non -collusion Affidavit, signed by J. C. Whitcomb,,Pres. This bid will be examined and taken under advisement. OPENING OF BIDS -(-FIRE DEPARTMENT --PAINTING OF STATIONS 6.7.8 AND CENTRAL ) The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the Board called for bids to be opened for the painting of Fire Dtations Nos. 6, 7 8'and Central Station. Proofs of Publication from The South Bend Tribune with affidavit signed by Robert DeLong and The Record with affidavit signed by Kathleen Sweitzer were found sufficient. The Clerk of the Board announced that no bids had been received for the above proposed contract and he was directed by the Board to re -advertise on July 6, July 13. Bids will be opened on July 16, 1962. COMPLAINT: COUNCILMAN MUSZYNSKI ( ILLEGAL PARKING OF TRUCKS A complaint from Councilman Muszynski to the Common Council that he has had numerous complaint regarding illegal parking of trucks, trucks parked with motors running, causing unnecessary noise and trucks speeding:_; through Swygart Street and Indiana Avenue between Prairie and Walnut was referred to the Police Department for investigation and report.
