am <br />June I1, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June I19 1962 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING OF BID_( BUILDING DEPARTMENT — SEDAN ) <br />After due examination, and since the bid of Gates Chevrolet Corp. <br />for the Sedan for the Building Department seems to be the lowest and <br />best bid, the Board hereby decides to award such bid to this Corporation. <br />Gabs Chevrolet Corporation <br />333 W. Western Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />1 - 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II, Two Door Sedan $29127.50 <br />Less allowance for Federal Excise Tax 156.00 <br />Less allowance for one 1956 Stude. $1,971.90 <br />2 Door Sedan 476.90 <br />Net Price $1,495.00 <br />This bid is awarded, subject to all specifications being met by <br />the Corporation. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( ATTEND CONFERENCE ) <br />Comes now Verner Lane, Suilbing Commissioner, and requests permission <br />to attend a conference of the National Industry Advisory Committee on <br />Wood Roof Truss Design at Purdue University on June 28 and June 299 <br />1962. <br />Permission granted by the Board. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT SUB -STANDARD DIV. ( BEARINGS ) <br />Comes now Mr. Andrew Pustay with reference to property owned by him <br />and Catherine Pustay, located at 720 E. Keasey Street to show cause <br />why the repairs ordered by the Sub -Standard Division have not been <br />made. <br />Mr. Pustay reported to the Board that he had made the major repairs. <br />The Board directed Mr. John Grabarz to meet with Mr. Pustay, inspect <br />the premises, and report back to the Board on June 18, 1962. <br />SUB —STANDARD DIVISION ( DEMOLITION BIDS ) <br />Mr. Grabarz reported the following bids on demolition of property <br />located at 106-108 Sadie Street: <br />A. J. Demolition <br />B 8 0 Wrecking Co. <br />$150.00 <br />200.00 <br />The bid is hereby awarded to the A. J.,Demolition Co. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A Report for the month of May, 1962 was submitted by the Building <br />Department, accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT ( MILITARY LEAVE ) <br />The Board approved a request for leave of absence from July 19 through, <br />July 15, 1962 in order to attend U.S. Army Reserve Summer Training, <br />whibh is mandatory.
