45 <br />ATTEND MEETING ( TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) <br />Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, requested permission- to attend a <br />Crouse -Hinds Equipment Demonstration in Indianapolis, June 4, 1962. <br />Theme will be no cost to the City for this trip. <br />Permission granted. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGNS) <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installation was approved: <br />No Parking 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. sign at 100 W. Washington Avenue, <br />north side, to cover parking meter located just east of alley. <br />LETTER Q3MMENDING FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />A letter from Mr. John E. Doran, addressed to Fire Chief Andrzejewski, <br />was referred to the Board for examination. <br />The letter commended the Fire Department, Company No. 14 in particular, <br />for efficient and courteous manner in which the Fire Department handled <br />a call from Mr. Doran requesting the services of the Fire Department. <br />ELECTRICAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT REQUEST (TRANSFER LADDER TRUCK <br />A letter from Mr. H. E. Harrison, Chief lectrical Inspector with <br />the Electrical Inspection Department to the Board, requested the <br />transfer of a if ton Ladder Truck from the Electrical Inspection <br />Department to the City Electrical Department. <br />Mr. Harrison explained that the Electrical Department has great need <br />for the use of this truck and has an adequate place to house- t; also <br />there is an understanding between him and Mr. Horvath of the klectrical <br />Department whereby the Electrical Inspection Department may have the <br />use of this equipment. The Traffic Department will also have the use <br />of this vehicle, according to Mr. Harrison. <br />Permission granted. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT-4 STREET LIGHTS ) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of <br />the Electrical Department, the following installations were approved: <br />Install 17 - 409000 lumen fluorescent lights on South Michigan St. <br />Install 14 - 109000 lumen incandescent lights on Riverside Drive <br />between Eastmont and Darden Road. <br />PROMOTIONS( POLICE DEPARTMENT ) <br />Following the recommendation- of Police Chief Harman, the following <br />promotions were approved, effective June 1, 1962: <br />Officer Thomas B. Grant to Uniformed Sergeant <br />Officer John J. Leader to Detective Sergeant <br />Officer Eugene F. Flowers to Detective Sergeant. <br />MONTHLY REPORT ( POLICE DEPARTMENT ) <br />The Report for the month of April, 1462 from the Police Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
