FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application from Cris Deon Townsend for the South Bend Fire Department <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( ANNUAL REPORT <br />The Annual Report for the year 1961 from the -Building Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT- SUB -STANDARD DIVISION HEARING <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department and informed the Board that the owner of property <br />located at 325 S. Camden has started demolition of the structure. <br />Mr. Grabarz informed the Board further that a bid had been received <br />for such demolition ands under the circumstances, requested a postponement <br />of this hearing and letting of the bid in order to ascertain whether <br />the owner would continue with the demolition himself. <br />Permission granted. Case continued until 30 days from date. <br />The bid received for the above demolition is as follows: <br />A.J. Demolition Company, Inc. <br />318 O'Brien St. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Demolition of structure located at 325 S. Camden - $150.00 <br />In accordance with the above request, the bid will be Occopted and placed <br />on file until April 25, 1962. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER PROGRESS REPORT RAILROAD SURVEY <br />Comes now Clem Hazinski with a Progress Report on the railroad survey <br />in connection with the track repair in the City. Mr. Hazinski reported <br />that he had received replies from the New Jersey Railroad, the Grand <br />Trunk, the South Shore and the Michigan Central Division of the New <br />York Central Railroad. <br />The South Shore has already started patching their tracks and the <br />Michigan Central Division of the New York Central Railroad intends to <br />do a permanent repair on Niles Avenue, beginning April 15, 1962. <br />Mr. Hazinski reported that, to this date, he has had no word from the <br />New York Central or the Pennsylvania Railroads concerning his request. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE ( NEWBILL BAR-B-QUE PIT) <br />A Certificate of Insurance indemnifying the City of South Bend from <br />Mr. Newbill in accordance with instructions of the Board at the time <br />he was given permission to build Bar-b-que Pit at•1233-35 W. Washington, <br />was submitted to the Board. Said insurance indemnifies the city in case <br />of accident, because of an overhang at the Bar-b-que Pit. <br />The Certificate was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:00 A.M. <br />Acting ai an <br />Attest: An o J.
