March 26, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />March 26, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Edwin L. Davies and Ray S. <br />Andrysiak were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were <br />not read or approved. The Minutes will be read and approved at the <br />next regular meeting of the Board. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />INDIANA & MICHIGAN ELECTRIC COMPANY - RE: REPLACING LUMEN LIGHTS <br />RIVERSIDE DRIVE AT MARION STREET. <br />A letter from.-Ihdidn� & Michigan -Electric Company, signed by Joseph A. <br />Braunsdorf requesting the removal of five underground 1000 lumen lights <br />on Riverside Drive at north of Marion Streets was examined by the Board. <br />The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company proposes to install in their place <br />two 6000 lumen overhead lights. The letter also points out that the <br />present lights were installed in 1909 and, at the present time, four are <br />not working and replacement is exorbitant. These five lights ark now <br />billed at $2.000 per month each and the two new lights would be bhlled <br />at $3.65 each, thus saving the city $2.70 per month. r <br />The proposal, after examination, was approved. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />The following installations, following the recommendation of Clem <br />Hazinski, Traffic engineer were approved: <br />2 - 2 Hour signs installed on south side of 1000 block of West Sample <br />Street. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENff__�_STREET LIGHT'S <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of <br />the Electrical Department, the following installations were approved: <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light at corner of Fellows and Walter Streets <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light at 4328 E. Fellows Street <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light at Spokane Lane and Portland Lane <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light at Arcadia Avenue and Portland Lane <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( PETITIONS FOR STREET LIGHT'S <br />The following Petitions for street lights were referred to the`;=lectrical <br />Department for investigation and recommendation: <br />Street light in the 11 hundred block South 35th Street from <br />Pole #285-343 <br />Street light at Bridge, 900 E. Indiana Avenue, north side. <br />STREET LIGHT' OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT ( APPLICATION) <br />The following application,_ for the Police Department was accepted and <br />ordered placed on file: Cornell:£ug6he James. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS AND BONDS <br />The following Special Police Commissions and Bonds for employees of <br />The South Bend Tribune were approved and ordered placed on file: Raymond <br />Fry and Albert J.
