on January 25, 1962 and, if weather is inclement, Mr. Hazinski requests <br />permission to return to South Bend on January 26, 1962. The meeting <br />will deal with the duties of the Traffic Engineering Department in <br />Civil Defense. <br />Permission granted. <br />FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT ( PORTAGE TOWNSHIP) <br />An AgreeTent for Fire Protection between the City of South Bend and <br />Portage Township, approved by the Portage Township Advisory Board <br />was submitted to the Board of Public Works & Safety and approved and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the <br />Electrical Department the following changes were ordered: <br />Remove 1 - 1,000 Lumen underground light at St. Vincena acid <br />Niles Avenue, then install 1 - 4000 lumen overhead light at <br />this location. <br />Remove 1 - 1000 lumen underground light at North Shore Drive <br />and Lafayette4 then install 1 4000 lumen overhead light <br />at this location. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT RESIGNATION ( BOROWSKI) <br />A request from Captain Charles C. Borowskip South Bend Police Department, <br />to the Board to accept his resignation, effective February 28, 19629 <br />after 22 years, 3 months and 4 days of oontinuous service on the <br />Department, was granted;' by the Board in accordance with Captain <br />Borkowski's request. <br />APPLICATIONS POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for the Police Department were accepted and <br />ordered placed on file: Gary L. MacLaren, Michael Geissel Harman. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT LETTER OF OOMI&L'IMENT _ <br />A letter of compliment to the Fire Chief from Mr. Judd Leighton compliment- <br />ing the Department for the splendid work done at the time of a fire in <br />Mr. Leighton's resident, was submitted to the Board, examined and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />CIVIL DEFENSE MINUTES <br />A copy of the Minutes of the St. Joseph County Civil Defense Advisory <br />Council was accepted by the Board, examined and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:15 A.M. / <br />Cha i <br />1 <br />
