PARENT, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 South Bend Common Council 4th Floor, County -City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear Members of the Council: AREA 219 284 -9261 September 15, 1980 Re: Urban Development Action Grant Application I am submitting for your consideration, on September 15, 1980 a resolution authorizing submittal of an Urban Development Action Grant (UDAG) application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The grant, if approved, would be used in conjunction with private sector investment to develop the proposed ethanol pro- duction facility. If UDAG funds can be obtained, they will be used to finance the following public portions of the project: (1) acquisition of land for public right -of -way; (2) preparation of the site and roadway; (3) soil stabilization, excavation and backfill; (4) access roadway construction, improvement, and signal - ization; (5) water and sewer line extensions; (6) overhead electrical transmission line relocation; (7) acquisition and relocation of adversely impacted residents. Then the privately financed portion of the project would include: (1) a 110 million dollar fuel grade anhydrous ehhanol pro- duction facility.
