PARENT, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />South Bend Common Council <br />4th Floor, County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Members of the Council: <br />AREA 219 284 -9261 <br />September 15, 1980 <br />Re: Urban Development Action <br />Grant Application <br />I am submitting for your consideration, on September 15, 1980 <br />a resolution authorizing submittal of an Urban Development Action <br />Grant (UDAG) application to the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development. <br />The grant, if approved, would be used in conjunction with <br />private sector investment to develop the proposed ethanol pro- <br />duction facility. <br />If UDAG funds can be obtained, they will be used to finance <br />the following public portions of the project: <br />(1) acquisition of land for public right -of -way; <br />(2) preparation of the site and roadway; <br />(3) soil stabilization, excavation and backfill; <br />(4) access roadway construction, improvement, and signal - <br />ization; <br />(5) water and sewer line extensions; <br />(6) overhead electrical transmission line relocation; <br />(7) acquisition and relocation of adversely impacted residents. <br />Then the privately financed portion of the project would include: <br />(1) a 110 million dollar fuel grade anhydrous ehhanol pro- <br />duction facility. <br />
