Tim Scott
1sT District Council Member
Common Council President
During the budget hearings there was much discussion of re- allocation of funds from various
departments to properly fund the City IT department. The new budget gives better details to how
and where the funding sources are as well as line -item details of what is expected per department of
IT services.
Also, my hope for 2017 is to have a bill for legal electronic filing of bills and resolutions. I also hope
for more training with council members and more collaboration with City IT for better use of
technology and availability of information to our citizens of South Bend.
Per the City Budget hearings Council member Karen L. White and I discussed ways the city can use
technology to better inform citizens of the City's budget or other information. I envision computers
or kiosks at public spaces for citizens to tap into the information of the City.
I hope in 2017 I will remain IT Chairman to see these ideas through.
Thank you.
R ectfully submi
Tim Scott, Chairperson
Information & Technology Committee
South Bend Common Council
227 W.
