1.06 Chimney will require restoration work and complete cleaning, and all associated costs shall be <br />included in the Base Bid. Chimney will not require 100% re -pointing; re -point only where <br />required. <br />1.07 Contractors shall make a reasonable effort to remove all plant material from the building fagade <br />without damaging existing veneer. It is understood that 100% removal of all plant debris may not <br />be feasible. <br />1.08 Contractors shall remove all existing caulk from brick head & bedjoints, even where not <br />specifically shown on drawings, and re -point as necessary. This condition is most prevalent at <br />and around window heads. <br />1.09 Contractors shall have within their Base Bid a cost to cover the following minimums: <br />A. Brick Re -pointing: 1,750 sq.ft. <br />B. Replacing spalled bricks: 750 bricks <br />1.10 Provide Alternate No. 1 cost for cleaning and removing paint from all exposed vertical concrete <br />building walls. The 4'-0" tall half -wall at current gas meter assembly near the existing garage <br />door is excluded from this alternate. <br />1.11 Provide Alternate No. 2 Cost for infilling existing window & door openings with brick to match <br />existing building; and cutting openings and installing lintels for new windows as shown on the <br />revised Drawings. Cost will include infilling five (5) total windows (130 sq.ft.) and two (2) doors <br />(85 sq.ft.) Cost shall include removing any steel lintels, soldier bricks, and sills. New openings <br />will require (3) steel angle lintels each and soldier course header. <br />PART 2: SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />2.01 Add the following sub -items to Special Provisions Section XXI - Description of Work, Part B - <br />Additions: <br />4. Alternate No. 1 covers the cleaning and removing paint from exposed vertical <br />concrete walls around the building perimeter. <br />5. Alternate No. 2 covers the infilling of (5) existing windows and (2) doors with brick; <br />and cutting (2) new openings and installing lintels in preparation for future windows <br />(window assembly and installation is part of separate contract.) <br />PART 3: DRAWINGS <br />3.01 See attached Construction Drawings dated Revision 1: January 5, 2017 for all changes described <br />within this addendum.
