STREET LIGHTING AT CALVARY TEMPLE DENIED <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski , Assistant Traffic.Director has recommended that.a <br />request from Rev. Roy Wead"to have more street lights put in at the new <br />Calaary Temp at Michigan and Chippewa be denied as it is partially out of <br />order. <br />Rev. Wead wanted to provide more light for his property, building, and parking <br />lot. It is not the responsibility of the city t6 provide more light for private <br />propery, but to light streets and aiddwalks. It has been suggested that Rev. <br />Wead contact some commercial lighting concern to provide adequate lighting for <br />the parking lot and buildings at the church. <br />The Secretary was instructed to write Rev. Wead and inform him of the Boards <br />decision. <br />The streets in the area are aproperly lighted with one exception, the midblock <br />of Main between Chippewa and Sherwood and the department does recommend its <br />installation and same was approved by the Board. <br />�.. WESTERN AVENUE STREET LIGHTING �- RENOVATION <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, assistant Traffic Director submitted his opinion and <br />recommendation to the Board that the street light proposal submitted to his <br />C-) office and Mr. Lloyd Taylor by Mr. Wayne A. Frost of the Indiana and Michigan,E <br />Electric company for the renovation of the Western Avenue Street Light system <br />between Michigan and Olive to 99 - 20,000 lumen mercury vapor street lights <br />be approved. <br />The additional monthly operating cost to the city will be $65.00 or $780.00 <br />a year. This additi6nalcost buys the city an indrease of 883,000 lumens over <br />the present system of 1,097,000 lumens to 1,980,000 lumens for the total <br />system. <br />The Board approved the recommendation of Mr. Wadzinski. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />The street light outage reports for the week were approved and ordered filed <br />by -the Board. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. <br />MA! <br />n, <br />
