Time limit for demolition <br />is 30 days. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED <br />Following investigation of the Electrical Department, the Board <br />approved the following street light installations: <br />1. Highland Estates Subdivision:- 4 4000 lumens, two to be installed <br />at a later date. <br />2. Garden Lane: 1 - 4000 lumens mid -block between Sample & Dogwood Lane <br />3;. Chapin Street: =l - 4000 lumen mid -block between Donald & Ewing. <br />4. Scott Street: 1 - 4000 lumen mid -block at 525 N. Scott Street. <br />5. Westmoor Street: 1 - 4000 lumen mid -block at 2800 & 2900 Westmoor. <br />6. Meade Street and Rogers Street: 1 - 4000 lumen at the corner of Meade <br />and Rogers Streets.. <br />7. McKinley Avenue: 5 - 10,000 lumen lights installed. <br />(3 - 4000 lumens increased tO 10,000 lumen. <br />8_ Notre Dame Avenue: 3 - 6,000 lumens installed <br />( 4 - 4,000 lumens increased to 6,000 lumens, and 1 - 6000 lumen increased <br />to 21,000 lumen). <br />P.EQ,UEST TO PARK DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHTS ONNOTRE DAME AVENUE ) <br />As a result of a study of the area on Notre Dame Avenue between South Bend <br />Avenue and Angela Boulevard b,'6the City, it was felt that a part,of <br />the problem of insufficient lighting on this street is the failure of <br />owners or the Park Department to trim the trees along the street so <br />that the installed lights are insufficient to cover the ground area <br />for which they are designed. <br />Accordingly, a letter was directed to the Board of Park Commissioners, <br />to proceed in accordance with Section 35-11 and following sections of the <br />South Bend Municipal Code for the trimming of trees on Notre Dame <br />Avenue between South Bend Avenue and Angela Boulevard. <br />PETITIONS• STREET LIGHTS DENIED <br />Following investigation by the Engineering Department and the Electrical <br />Department, the following Petitions for additional street lights are <br />denied <br />1. Grace Street, between Kaley and Meade. (Improper location). <br />2. Cottage Grove between Harrison Avenue in alley. (City will not <br />approve lights in alleys.) <br />3. East of Michigan Street, south of Marion and north of Marion. (City <br />denies the request of increase. Present light is proper). <br />4. Petitions submitted_by Councilman Walter Symkowiak: <br />a. Prast & Huey. ( Has proper lighting). <br />b. Prast & Elmer. (Has proper lighting).. <br />c. Johnson and Longley. (Denied by Board) <br />d. Fassnacht between College & Wilbur. (Denied by Board) <br />e. Corner of Meade and Longley. (Denied by Board) <br />
