SOT. <br />September 13, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />September 13, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT• HEARING L HOUSE MOVE - DOUGLAS STREET ) <br />The hearing scheduled for 10:00 A.M. this date on the house move <br />petition filed with this Board on September 7, 1965 was cancelled <br />due to the fact that the owner of the house, Mr. Rodney Moyer, <br />withdrew his petition. The house was to have been moved to 2101 <br />Douglas'Street. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now Mr. Richard Liszewski, Sub -Standard Director, and requested <br />permission to post the house located at 133 E. Keasey Street as <br />sub=standard . <br />Mr. F; G. Feeney, attorney for the owner, Mr. Frank Fox, appeared <br />before the Board and requested a continuance of 50 days to allow <br />Mr. Fox time to make repairs. Mr. Feeney explained to the Board that <br />the illness of Mr. Fox' wife and the expenses involved because of this <br />illness was the prime factor why the house had not been repaired as <br />ordered. <br />Request granted and a 60 day continuance approved. <br />With reference to property located at 147 E. Paris Street and owned <br />by Rev. Luther Turley, Mr. Liszewski informed the Board that the <br />exterior of this house was in very poor condition and that, while <br />some work has been done, in his opinion not sufficient work had been <br />done to date. <br />Rev. Luther Turley, owner of the house, appeared before the Board and <br />explained that beccm se of the many children living in the adjacent <br />homes who played in his front yard, it was impossible to keep the <br />lawn and exterior of the house in good condition. <br />He requested a continuance of 60 days to continue to make repairs <br />needed. <br />Request granted. <br />With reference to a house located at 413 E. Ohio Street, owned by <br />Andrew and Helen Shewman, Mr. Liszewski requested that this property <br />be posted as sub -standard. Notice was sent on January 15, 1965 <br />and repairs have not been accomplished. House is not occupied. <br />This house was sold on land contract and subsequently returned to the <br />owners. <br />The Board granted a request to continue this case for 30 days and <br />to post house as sub -standard and not to be occupied. <br />Comes now Mr. Charles Summers, owner of a house located at 119 E. <br />Ohio Street, in response to notice from Mr. Liszewski, to show <br />cause why property had not been brought up to standard as requested <br />on November 4, 1964. <br />Mr. Summers advised the Board that the tenants in the house had not <br />been paying rent for a period of six years.
