69 June 21, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, June 21, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: PROGRESS REPORT (ESTHER HM E BUILDERS_,, INC ) CIMADT ATATM i T1 =-ro \ n'CITft9V0 o. 'U1n'rnnwT nnAr Mr. Forrest West, Building Commissioner, reported to the Board that he had written to Esther Home Builders, Inc.,Attdnt on of Mr. Millard Hartman, directing that this organization cease and desist from dumping rubbish and other debris on their property and also to have property cleaned up within-30 days from date of letter or the matter will be turned over to the Legal Department of the City. Copy of Mr. West's letter was submitted to the Board, accepted and t`- ordered placed on file. Mr. DuComb directed that a letter be sent to Mr. Irvin Manuszak of Chimes Boulevard advising him of this action. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) Mr. Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division, advised the Board that Mr. 0. D. Taylor, owner of property at 401 E. Wenger Street had requested a continuance of two weeks to allow him time to repair property which is in very bad condition. The property in question is a store building. Permission granted. With reference to property located at 612 E. Wenger Street, owned by Theodore and Mary Longbrake, at the request of Mr. Liszewski, the Board granted a 30 day continuance on this hearing. At the request of Mr. Liszewski, permission was granted to Mr. Liszewski to advertise for bids for demolition on property located at 326 S. St. Louis Boulevard, owned by Mr. John Vurpillat. Mr. Vurpillar, owner of property located at 109-113 N. Hill Street, requested a 15 day continuance in order to sell this property. The building is posted as sub -standard. Permission granted. At the request of Mr. DuComb, Mr. Liszewski submitted an oral progress report on property located at 330 S. Michigan Street, owned by Mr. Gilbert. Mr. Liszewski reported that Mr. Gilbert is procee�disig as request&0ttth demolition of this building. POLICE DEPARTMENT: MILITARY IF-AVE ( OFFICER DEFREEUW & OFFICER UJAWSKI) At the request of Chief Hampton, the Board approved military leave for summer training for the following Police officers: Officer L.M. Kujawski, July 2 to July 17, 1965, Camp McCoy, Wis. Officer Julius R. DeFreeuw, from Saturday, July 31 to August 15, 1965,. Camp Grayling, .Michigan. POLIM DEPARTMENT: LETTER OF COMPLIMENT ( SGT SEALS) Chief Hampton submitted a letter from Bet. Sgt. Seals, expressing his appreciation and gratitude for the kindness and consideration shown to him by the Police Chief and the Board of Public Works & Safety at the time of his illness. The letter was accepted and ordered placed on file.
