69 <br />June 21, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June 21, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: PROGRESS REPORT (ESTHER HM E BUILDERS_,, INC ) <br />CIMADT ATATM i T1 =-ro \ n'CITft9V0 o. 'U1n'rnnwT nnAr <br />Mr. Forrest West, Building Commissioner, reported to the Board that <br />he had written to Esther Home Builders, Inc.,Attdnt on of Mr. Millard <br />Hartman, directing that this organization cease and desist from dumping <br />rubbish and other debris on their property and also to have property <br />cleaned up within-30 days from date of letter or the matter will be <br />turned over to the Legal Department of the City. <br />Copy of Mr. West's letter was submitted to the Board, accepted and <br />t`- ordered placed on file. <br />Mr. DuComb directed that a letter be sent to Mr. Irvin Manuszak of <br />Chimes Boulevard advising him of this action. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Mr. Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division, advised <br />the Board that Mr. 0. D. Taylor, owner of property at 401 E. Wenger <br />Street had requested a continuance of two weeks to allow him time <br />to repair property which is in very bad condition. The property in <br />question is a store building. <br />Permission granted. <br />With reference to property located at 612 E. Wenger Street, owned <br />by Theodore and Mary Longbrake, at the request of Mr. Liszewski, <br />the Board granted a 30 day continuance on this hearing. <br />At the request of Mr. Liszewski, permission was granted to Mr. Liszewski <br />to advertise for bids for demolition on property located at 326 S. <br />St. Louis Boulevard, owned by Mr. John Vurpillat. <br />Mr. Vurpillar, owner of property located at 109-113 N. Hill Street, <br />requested a 15 day continuance in order to sell this property. The <br />building is posted as sub -standard. <br />Permission granted. <br />At the request of Mr. DuComb, Mr. Liszewski submitted an oral progress <br />report on property located at 330 S. Michigan Street, owned by Mr. <br />Gilbert. Mr. Liszewski reported that Mr. Gilbert is procee�disig as <br />request&0ttth demolition of this building. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: MILITARY IF-AVE ( OFFICER DEFREEUW & OFFICER UJAWSKI) <br />At the request of Chief Hampton, the Board approved military leave <br />for summer training for the following Police officers: <br />Officer L.M. Kujawski, July 2 to July 17, 1965, Camp McCoy, Wis. <br />Officer Julius R. DeFreeuw, from Saturday, July 31 to August 15, <br />1965,. Camp Grayling, .Michigan. <br />POLIM DEPARTMENT: LETTER OF COMPLIMENT ( SGT SEALS) <br />Chief Hampton submitted a letter from Bet. Sgt. Seals, expressing his <br />appreciation and gratitude for the kindness and consideration shown to <br />him by the Police Chief and the Board of Public Works & Safety at the <br />time of his illness. <br />The letter was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
