09 Ll <br />June 7, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June 7, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs.R6bert J.DUComb`, and Lloyd S. Taylor <br />were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and <br />approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various <br />suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />A representative of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Depart- <br />ment, Mr. Tony Raess, appeared before the Board in Mr. Liszewskits <br />absence to report that Mr. Porter Beckner, owner of property at 407- <br />4072 E. Paris Street had been asked to come before the Board to show <br />cause why this house has not been brought up to standard. <br />Mr. Rasee requested a continuance of this hearing for one week. <br />Request granted. <br />Mr. Raess also reported the sale of property located at 406 E. Wenger <br />Street. The new owner-is.._Barion Davidson. Mr. Raess requested a <br />continuance on this hearing to allow the new owner to decide whether <br />he will bring property up to standard. <br />Request granted. <br />REFER TO BUILDING DEPARTMENT: COMPLAINT-( MRS L. HORVATH EMKING LOT) <br />A letter from Mrs. Louis Horvath, 1417 W. Indiana Avenue, to the Board <br />of Public Works & Safety, advising the Board of the dusty and dirty <br />condition of a parking lot of Capital Freight Lines at 1530 S. Walnut <br />Street, was examined by the Board. <br />Mrs. Horvath stated that the owner of this property, W. George Swiatowy, <br />1701 S. Magnolia Street, has failed to keep this lot oiled and for the <br />past two years the Capital Freight Lines has failed to oil the lot as <br />in the past. <br />The Board requested that this letter be referred to Mr. Forrest West, <br />Building Commission. <br />TRAFFIC DIRECTOR: TRAFFIC SIGNS(HASTI11GS AND 39'I'fSTREET ) <br />Traffic Director, Clem Hazinski, reported that studies have been made <br />at the intersection of 30th and Hastings which is presently controlled <br />by four-way stop signs. <br />The result of these studies indicate that this four-way sign is not now <br />necessary and Mr. Hazinski recommended that the stop signs on 30th Street <br />be removed and adequate warning signs of the change be posted on Hastings <br />as it approaches 30th Street. <br />Following this recommendation, the Board approved the change. <br />TRAFFIC DIRECTOR: INSTALATIONS <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, the Board approved the <br />following installations: <br />4 - Two Hour Parking signs and Posts on the north side of Western <br />in the 1200 block. <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHT ( ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ) <br />A Petition from Raymomd Richard Rice -and others for the installation of <br />1 <br />1 <br />
