0 <br />POLICE DEPARMENT• PRMIOTION E GERSCHOFFER <br />Police Chief Irvin C. Hampton, having this date recommended the promotion <br />of Officer Ervin Gerschoffer to the rank of Detective Sergeant, the <br />Board of Public Safety being advised on the premises now promotes <br />Officer Gerschoffer to the rank of Detective Sergeant, effective May <br />16, 1965. <br />BUILDING DEPAMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION HEARINGS <br />Comes now Richard Liszewski, Diredtor of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department and requests permission to post the property <br />at 126 N. Hill Street for demolition. The building is now vacant <br />and is a sub -standard building. <br />Ir ._Jack kunfee, attorney representing t_ne Estate for this address, <br />which is a Welfare Estate appeared before the Board and advised the <br />Board that he has been trying to sell this property -and requested <br />a continuance in order to effect the sale. <br />After hearing I-dr. Dunfee, the Board -ruled that a continuance of 30 days <br />be granted. If, at the end of this 30 day period the property has not <br />been sold the City will demolish the structure. <br />With reference to property located at 225 S. Wabash, owned by Millis <br />Devine, Mr. Liszewski requested permission to advertise for bids for <br />demolition. <br />Request granted. <br />Tour. Liszeiiiski reported that property owned by Mrs. Lottie King, located <br />at 234 E. SaiTle Street :ras sub -standard and that TJ,rs . King had contracted <br />to have the house demolished. However, she had failed to cooperate with <br />the contractor who had not been able to accomplish the demolition. The <br />contract expired on Tvlay 5, 1965. <br />Under the circumstances, bb?. Liszewski requested permission to have <br />the building demolished by the City. <br />Permission granted and TvTr. Liszewski requested to advertise for bids <br />for demolition. <br />With reference to property located at 712 E. South Street, Tvir. Liszewski <br />reported that this is a sub -standard dwelling, that it is now vacant and <br />boarded up. It is oyTned by residents in Florida, Mr. Don Harbough. <br />J&% Liszewski requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition. <br />Upon the request of M-1r. Liszewski, the Board granted a 30 day continuance <br />for ,property located at 301 E. Keasey Street. <br />FIRE_ DEPAREv",ENT DISABILITY PENSION ( J. CMINGHAII )__ <br />Upon the recommendation of the Fire Chief, based on reports from the <br />Pension Board and statements of physicians, the Board approved a h1edical <br />Pension for Fireman John Edgard Cunningham who is incapacitated and <br />unable to perform his duties as a fireman. <br />The Pension will be effective as of May 1, 1965. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTI;NT ( REQUESTS FOR LIGHTS ) <br />The follotring requests for street lights were referred to the Electrical <br />Department for investigation and recommendation: <br />
