33 TIarch 29, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, March 29, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were.read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. AWARDING BID; FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS UNIFORflS AND- Q2 E UIP1,4ENT FIRE DEPT. CONTRACT NO -65 POLICE 1, DEPT CONTRACT NO 0-6 After due examination of the bid submitted by Gerber Manufacturing Company, the only bidder for Uniforms and Uniform Equipment for the Fire and Police Departments, the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief having reported to the Board that prices submitted were in order and satisfactory, it was the decision of the Board to award the bid as follows: Gerber M gnuf acturi g Co Fire Department Uniforms and Uniform Equipment to $34,650.00 or less. Police Department Uniforms and Uniform Equipment to $28,000.00 or less. U C14 BUILDING DEPARTD.ENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION I1EARINGS Ca0 Comes now Mr. Richard Lisewski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division, to report to the Board that property located at 214 E. Ohio Street, U owned by 1,'[rs. Blanche Linsenmier, is sub -standard and that repair orders have not been complied with. Mrs. Linsenmier was represented by her attorney iiiho advised the Board that Mrs. Linsenmier is a woman of advanced years and did not seem to be aware of what the repair orders were. Mr. Liszewski requested permission to post the building which is now vacant as sub -standard and that it remain vacant until repairs had been made. This arrangement was agreeable to the attorney representing Mfrs. Linsenmier and the Board granted permission to take the steps requested by A:Zr. Lis zewsT.ci Moir. Ross Weldy, owner of property located at 1911 Clyde Street, appeared before the Board as requested by the Sub -Standard Division, to show cause why repairs had not been made, as ordered. Mr. Weldy requested a continuance of 90 days in order to complete repairs on subject property. Following the recommendation of Mr. Liszewski that this was a reasonable request, this case was continued for a period of 90 days. SUB -STANDARD DIVISION OPEN BIDS ( DED.40LITION ) MVIr. Liszewski submitted sealed bids to the Board for demolition of property located at 1321 Elliott Street. The following bids were received: B & 0 Building Wrecking Co. 17715 Auten Road South Bend, Ind. Bid rejected. Non -Collusion Affidavit not signed. Chas. Clough 25412 State Road T2 South Bend, Ind. Retain Salvage $400.00 Stack Salvage $460.00
