33 <br />TIarch 29, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />March 29, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were.read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING BID; FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS UNIFORflS AND- Q2 <br />E UIP1,4ENT FIRE DEPT. CONTRACT NO -65 POLICE 1, DEPT CONTRACT NO 0-6 <br />After due examination of the bid submitted by Gerber Manufacturing <br />Company, the only bidder for Uniforms and Uniform Equipment for the <br />Fire and Police Departments, the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief having <br />reported to the Board that prices submitted were in order and satisfactory, <br />it was the decision of the Board to award the bid as follows: <br />Gerber M gnuf acturi g Co <br />Fire Department Uniforms and Uniform Equipment to $34,650.00 or less. <br />Police Department Uniforms and Uniform Equipment to $28,000.00 or less. <br />U <br />C14 BUILDING DEPARTD.ENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION I1EARINGS <br />Ca0 Comes now Mr. Richard Lisewski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division, <br />to report to the Board that property located at 214 E. Ohio Street, <br />U owned by 1,'[rs. Blanche Linsenmier, is sub -standard and that repair <br />orders have not been complied with. <br />Mrs. Linsenmier was represented by her attorney iiiho advised the Board <br />that Mrs. Linsenmier is a woman of advanced years and did not seem to <br />be aware of what the repair orders were. <br />Mr. Liszewski requested permission to post the building which is now <br />vacant as sub -standard and that it remain vacant until repairs had been <br />made. <br />This arrangement was agreeable to the attorney representing Mfrs. Linsenmier <br />and the Board granted permission to take the steps requested by A:Zr. <br />Lis zewsT.ci <br />Moir. Ross Weldy, owner of property located at 1911 Clyde Street, appeared <br />before the Board as requested by the Sub -Standard Division, to show <br />cause why repairs had not been made, as ordered. <br />Mr. Weldy requested a continuance of 90 days in order to complete repairs <br />on subject property. <br />Following the recommendation of Mr. Liszewski that this was a reasonable <br />request, this case was continued for a period of 90 days. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION OPEN BIDS ( DED.40LITION ) <br />MVIr. Liszewski submitted sealed bids to the Board for demolition of <br />property located at 1321 Elliott Street. <br />The following bids were received: <br />B & 0 Building Wrecking Co. <br />17715 Auten Road <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Bid rejected. Non -Collusion Affidavit not signed. <br />Chas. Clough <br />25412 State Road T2 <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Retain Salvage $400.00 <br />Stack Salvage $460.00 <br />
