M <br />Mr. DuComb also advised the remonstrators that residents in the area would <br />be given sufficient notice in the event the Fire Station would be closed <br />so that they might appear at any hearing on this subject to present their <br />views. <br />RESTAURANT LICENSES: REPORT FRGA HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />James D. Hill, Jr., Chief Sanitation officer for the Department of Health, <br />submitted a letter and list of restaurants that have not obtained licenses <br />for 1965 as of January 31, 1965, to be checked by the Board. <br />According to law, restaurants must have license to operate by January 31, <br />1965. Licenses are obtained in the Office of the City Controller. <br />The list and copy of letter was referred to the City Controller for what- <br />ever action he may, wish to take in order to collect the license fee. <br />REQUEST: CLOSE PART OF OAK PARK DRIVE FOR " PLAY STREET" <br />Mrs. L. S. Hammond of 1817 Oak Park Drive, appeared before the Board and <br />submitted a Petition for the closing of the 1800 block of Oak Park Drive <br />for a "Play Street" for children who can use this steep hill as a slide <br />during the winter months. The Petition requests the closing of the <br />street after each snow fall. <br />The Board; through its Chairman, Mr. DuComb, advised Mrs. Hammond that <br />it was hesitant about taking this action and thus making the City liable <br />for any accident that may occur. However, after hearing Mrs. Hammond, <br />the Board advised her that the matter will be discussed and this request <br />is taken under advisement. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS <br />Mr. Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department Superintendent, submitted <br />a recommendation that a street light be installed at 717 E. Wenger <br />Street & Hoffman Court and that another light be installed at 1222 <br />Marietta Street, one half block north of Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />The recommendation was referred to the City Engineer for study and <br />report. <br />A request for a street light in the 300 block of Wakewa Avenue was <br />submitted to the Board b� Mr. Radecki. <br />Mr. Radecki reported that there is a light located in the park about 80 <br />feet from the curb line and that, in his opinion, if the Park Board <br />would increase the voltage of this light it would help solve the dark <br />condition. <br />The Board requested that Mr. Newman, Par'_ Department Superintendent, be <br />notified by letter of this condition with a request that the Park Board <br />study the suggestion and -report to I4ir. Radecki its decision or recommen- <br />dation. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE• FIRE DEPARTI N-T SEDANS TRUCK STATION <br />VIAGON ) <br />Fire Chief I,11cHen y requested permission to advertise for the following: <br />1. Two 1955 Four -Door Sedans - middle line <br />2. One 1965 2 Ton Pick-up Truck with Eight Foot Box <br />3. One 1965 Toro -Door Sedan <br />4. One 1965 Four -door Station 'Jagon, suitable for ambulet <br />after conversion. <br />Permission granted. Advertisements will be placed and bids opened on <br />February 23, 1965. <br />
