2/16/70 <br />COMPLAINT - ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION - LOUISE ROZEK AND OTHERS <br />The complaint of Mrs. Louise Rozek, Mrs. Collie Watson, 612 N. Walnut Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, and others, regarding the parking of tractor trailers <br />in the rear of the Texaco Filling Station on Walnut Street between LaPorte <br />and Lincolnway West in violation of City zoning ordinance was filed with <br />the Board and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, referred to the <br />Building Commissioner for appropriate action. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION <br />ORDER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS <br />E. WASHINGTON STREET, FREENLAWN' TO IRONWOOD <br />City Civil Engineer Lloyd S. Taylor files with the Board his recommendation <br />that the petition of Willis E. Sriver for the pavement of East Washington <br />Avenue, from Greenlawn to Ironwood, by constructing a Class C pavement with <br />curb repair be granted, the Board, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, directs Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, <br />to prepare preliminary plans, estimates and improvement resolution. <br />RECOMMENDATION OF CITY CIVIL ENGINEER - HUEY STREET <br />City Civil Engineer Lloyd S. Taylor files with the Board his recommendation <br />that the petition of Leyman Haynes and four others for the improvement of <br />Huey Street, from Longley to Roger Street, by constructing a Class C pavement <br />with curb, be deferred pending the outcome of the Model City Planning Program. <br />Thereupon, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that said improvement <br />be deferred indefinitely. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATION - PROGRESS AND SHERIDAN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffid Director for the installation of a stop sign <br />and post on Progress Street at Sheridan Avenue, <br />STREET LIGHTING - AREA BOUNDED ROUGHLY BY WILBER, ELWOOD, ECLIPSE AND BERGAN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried unanimously, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Director for the following; in the area <br />bounded, roughly, by Wilber, Elwood, Eclipse and Bergan Streets <br />Replace 31 - 4000L INC Oi'3 WP with 7000L MV OH WP <br />Replace 4 - 4000L INC OH WP with 7000L MV OH WP <br />Install 56 - 7000L MV OH WP <br />Remove 2 - 4000L MV OH WP <br />at an increase in cost per year of $2,796.00. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Certificate continuing contractor's bond for Sollitt Construction Company to <br />3/5/71 was approved by the Board and ordered filed. <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Certificate continuing excavation bond for Albert A. Spromberg to 11/30/70 <br />was approved and ordered filed. <br />Certificate continuing excavation bond for Delbert M. Hull to 12/31/70 was <br />approved and ordered filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street light outage reports for the period 2/13/70 to 2/12/70 were ordered <br />filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting ad- <br />journed at 11:30 A.M. <br />.
