Elder was awarded to O'Neal Trucking Company <br />on their lovra bid of $500.00. <br />REQUEST OF MID -WEST TURNKEY BUILDERS INC TO PARK TRAILER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried and upon the recom- <br />mendation of Building Commissioner West, the request of Mid -West Turnkey Builders, <br />Inc. to park a trailer temporarily for 12 months at the Northwest corner of <br />Carlisle and Indiana Avenue in South. Bend, was approved by the Board. Mr. !Vest's <br />office is to inform Mid-Vlest Turnkey of this approval by the Board. <br />VACATION PETITION - MID -WEST TURNKEY BUILDERS INC - Philli a Street <br />Petition to vacate Phillipa Street from North line of Indiana Avenue <br />extending North 106 feet to an unused 10 foot alley as shown on the recorded Plat <br />of South Bend Industrial Addition. This vacation is requested to obtain beneficial <br />use of an unused street easement for residential construction. The petition was <br />filed with the Board along with a check in the amount of $65.00. Upon motion made <br />seconded and unanimously carried this petition was referred to the Area Plan Com- <br />mission and the City Engineer for further study, review, and recommendation. <br />ALLEY VACATION PETITION - MID-VIEST TURNFTY BUILDERS. INC. - Carlisle -Warren area <br />Petition to vacate Part of 12 foot East-1,7est alley from Carlis� Street <br />on the West to Marren Street on the East to permit adjacent owner to obtain bene- <br />ficial use of the same for residential construction was filed with the Board along <br />with a check in the amount of $65.00. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, this petition was referred to Area Plan Commission and City Engineer for <br />further study, review and recommendation. <br />APPLICATION - FIRE DEPARMENT <br />The applications of: <br />George G. Kalamaras <br />11aurice C. Stoffelen <br />were filed with the Board for appointment to the Fire Department. These appli- <br />cations were referred to the Personnel Director for further processing. <br />APPLICATION - POLICE DEPARU.rENT <br />The application of Delores ITfilliams for appointment to the Police Department was <br />received and filed with the Board and ref e rred to the Personnel. Director for <br />further processing. <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION - E. Bowman and Columbia Court Area <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the recommendation of the <br />Traffic Engineer was approved as follovis: <br />15 mid block lights (71000L RTV OH VIP) to be installed on Ewing, Fox, <br />Donald, Bovman and Calvert <br />OBJECTION TO STREET LIGHT - BARTER HEIGHTS - Frank Schmidt <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the objection of <br />Frank Schmidt to a street light being installed in the area of his residence at <br />1117 Foster Street was referred to the Traffic Engineer for further investigation <br />to determine what the other residents in the area desire in the way of lighting. <br />It was further moved, seconded and carried that if the installation has not been <br />made that it be held up pending the outcome of further investigation. <br />
