February 3, 1970 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at <br />9:30 A.M. on February 3, 1970, with all members present. The minutes <br />of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />DS, _z. -�"AY, RADIOS FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS (General Electric) <br />Bids having been received January 26, 1970, and referred to the City Engiineer <br />and the Radio Department for review and recommendation, upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried the bid of General Electric for two-way <br />radios was accepted as recommended by the City Engineer and the Radio Depart- <br />ment and the contract is awarded to General Electric. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT RETIREA.TNT - Julius Takacs <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request for retirement from the South Bend Fire Department, of Julius Takacs, <br />effective January 30, 1970, having completed Twenty years and three months <br />of service. <br />SUB -STANDARD BUILDING DEPARTIVIENT <br />DEMOLITION BIAS <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits ,rrere found to be proper. <br />Bids Were: <br />405 E , T1lengyer <br />Bryant Excavating Company $330.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 300.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 405 E. 'Vlenger was awarded to O'Neal <br />Trucking Company on their low bid of $300.00. <br />1712 :' . Washington Avenue <br />Bryant Excavating Company $220.00 <br />1.1id-1.7est Demolition Corporation 323.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 218.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 1713 V-1. Washington Avenue was awarded to <br />O'Neal Trucking Company on their low bid of $218.00 <br />1310 I, Ford <br />hTid-Clest Demolition Corp. $223. 00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 219.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company 330.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 1310 V1. Ford was awarded to O'Neal Truck- <br />ing Company on their low bid of $219.00 <br />111 N. Jackson <br />Bryant Excavating Company $450.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company /,29.00 <br />I: id -''lest Demolition Corp. 433.00 <br />A & J Demolition 631.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 111 N. Jackson was awarded to O'Neal <br />Trucking Company on their low bid of $429.00. <br />
