1/26/70 <br />1 <br />RECOMMENDATION OF TRAFFIC DIRECTOR FOR PARKING RESTRICTIONS <br />Upon motion.made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the recommendations of the Traffic Engineer concerning park- <br />ing restrictions on�South Main Street. The restrictions were <br />as follows: Both sides of Main Street from Ewing south to the <br />Bowman Creek Bridge; The west side of Main Street from <br />Ewing to a point 150 ft. north; The south side of Ewing Ave- <br />nue from Main Street west to the Penn Central Railroad right <br />of way; The north side of Ewing from Main Street east for a <br />distance of 165 ft. Provision to allow present mail truck <br />loading from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. until postal sub -station <br />is relocated or other provisions for loading are made. <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING SANITARY SEWERS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board tabled the <br />following resolution:" A Resolution Establishing Policy as <br />to Sanitary Sewer Extensions and Private Connections with <br />Existing Sanitary Sewers Beyond the Corporate Limits of the <br />City of South Bend. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BONDS <br />Contractor's bond for Norman W. Collmer was rejected on the <br />basis of improper signatures. Clerk of the Board was instructed <br />to return the bond with instructions to have the name of <br />Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland,, ,by Richard Rockstroh <br />and under the signature the word agent, typed at the bottom of <br />the bond. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the continuing certifi- <br />cate for Contractor's Bond for Nick T. Prymak was approved <br />and ordered filed by the Board. <br />Continuing certificate for excavation bond for Raymond Guzman, <br />d/b/a/ ABC Plumbing, Inc., was ordered returned for proper <br />signatures of the principals. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the continuing certifi- <br />cate for the excavation bond for Orra S. Frame & Son was approved <br />and ordered filed by the Board. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street outage reports for the period 1-15-70 to 1-21-70 were <br />ordered filed. <br />REQUEST OF TAYLOR CONSTRUCTION CO. TO OCCUPY METERED CURB SPACE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineer and granted permission <br />to the Taylor Construction Company to park a trailer at the <br />curb on the east side of Main Street just south of Western <br />Avenue occupying meter spaces #20 and #22 for about 90 days, <br />with the provision that protection be given to pedestrians. <br />(per fees established in paragraph four) <br />COMPLAINT OF ACE TOOL ENGINEERING COMPANY <br />It was the recommendation of the Board that the letter of com- <br />plaint from Mr. Milovich be referred to the Police Department <br />with a note attached requesting information concerning 30 min- <br />ute parking regulations and wrong -way parking in this area. <br />
