1354 <br />January 5, 1970. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on January 5, 1970, with all members present. The minutes .of the previous <br />two meetings were read, -.and approved. <br />HEARING SET - CHARGES AGAINST FIREMAN STEPHEN WILLIAM DANIELOWICZ <br />Hearing on charges filed against fireman Stephen William Danielowicz, III -,by Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat`for failure to report for duty at the end of <br />the 60 day suspension period, namely 7:00 A.M. on December 23, 1969, was <br />set by the Board for 3:00 P.M., January 12, 1970, in the hearing room of the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />OPEN BIDS FOR VOICE RECORDER SYSTEM FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for one/half inch video recorder <br />system complete with video recorder, portable camera, monitor and accessories, <br />the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri County News on December 26, 1969 and January 2, 1970, which were examined <br />and found to be proper. Bids were opened as follows: <br />Ault Camera Shop, Inc., 127 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana. Non <br />collusion affidavit and bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid were found <br />to be proper. Bid being: <br />2 Sony DVK-2400/VCK-2400 Video Recorder Camera Ensemble - $5,527.76 <br />Electronic Service Co., 1126 Vassar Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Non collusion <br />affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by a bid bond in <br />the amount of 5% of the bid. Bid being: <br />2 NV-8080.WV8080 Panasonic VTR/Cameras complete --------- $7,359.30 <br />Meade Electric Company of Indiana, Inc., Electronics Division, 2317 Lincolnway <br />West, South Bend, Indiana. Non collusion affidavit and certified check in <br />the amount of $600.00 were found to be sufficient. Bid being: <br />2 Song DVK-2400/VCK-2400 Video Recorder complete ---------- $5,739.00 <br />Radio Distributing Company, Inc., 1212 High Street, South Bend, Indiana. Non <br />collusion affidavit and certified check in the amount of $620.00 were found <br />to be sufficient. Bid being: <br />2 Sony DVK-2400/VCK-2400 Video Recorder Camera Ensemble --- $6,166.95 <br />There being no further bids, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />the bids were referred to the Police Department for review and recommendation <br />to the Board. <br />APPLICATIONS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the Fire Department were filed <br />with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further processing: <br />David Andrew Colmer <br />Roger Allen Ice <br />Robert Wayne Sams, Jr. <br />APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the Police Department were <br />filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further <br />processing: <br />Michael James Borror <br />Bonnie F.
