<br />Jim Ries of Ries Equipment Company, Inc., 2804 Catherwood, Indianapolis, Indiana,
<br />in attendance at the meeting, stated his company had submitted a bid by certi-
<br />fied mail some 10 days ago. The bid was located in the Certified Mail Depart-
<br />ment at the Post Office and upon examination by the Board was found to be timely
<br />mailed and was opened. _Non collusion affidavit and bid undertaking in the
<br />amount of $1,700.00 were found to be proper. Bid being:

<br />There being no further bids, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids
<br />were referred to the City Engineer and Richard Gartner, Street Commissioner,
<br />for review and recommendation to the Board.
<br />RECOMMENDATION FOR DISMISSAL FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT - STEPHEN DANIELOWICZ
<br />Fireman Stephen Danielowicz III having been suspended from the Fire Department
<br />on October.24, 1969, for a period of 60 days for violation of Article IX, Section
<br />3, of the General Rules and Regulations of the Fire Department and not having
<br />reported back for duty at the end of the 60 day period on December 22, 1969, the
<br />matter was referred to the Legal Department for the preparation of charges .
<br />for dismissal as recommenddd by Fire Chief Joseph L._Zurat.
<br />PROMOTIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the promotion of
<br />the following police officers to the rank -of -sergeant, effective January 1,
<br />1970, as recommended by Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert:

<br />CONTRACT AWARDED FOR AUDIO VOICE TAPE RECORDER - POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation
<br />of Police Chief Loren M. Bussert for the award of contract for the voice tape
<br />recording -reporting system to International Butiness Machines at $3,297.97,
