November 24, 1969. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:35. <br />A.M., on November 24,,1969, with all members present. The minutes of the <br />previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE - JOSEPH THOMAS TAYLOR <br />Joseph Thomas Taylor appeared before the Board in reference to his appli- <br />cation for a taxicab drivers license. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the matter was continued one week for further information <br />from the Police Department. <br />RETIREMENTS FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board approved the <br />retirement of the following firemen: <br />Harold C. Klingerman, effective November 22, 1969, having <br />® been appointed October 19, 1949 and having served more than <br />C <br />20 years; and <br />ts. <br />Robert P. Loughlin, effective November 20, 1969, having <br />been appointed October 19, 1949 and having served more than <br />L.? 20 years. <br />SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER'S BOND - QERALD ROY SHIDAKER <br />Special police officer's bond on behalf of Gerald Roy Shidaker, employed by <br />St. Joseph Hospital, expiring March 20, 1970, was approved and ordered filed. <br />APPLICATION - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The application of Lloyd Kerr for appointment to the Police Department was <br />filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further <br />processing. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, gppeaced before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up: <br />740 N. Francis Street. Robert Kalizinski, one of the owners of this property, <br />appeared before the Board and stated that it is their intent to rehabilitate <br />this property and that they have started making repairs; that the building <br />is secured and that they will clean up the yard; and that they hope to have <br />the premises completely rehabilitated by spring. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the matter was continued two weeks for the owners to clean up <br />the debris in the yard. <br />1815 W. Ford Street. Mr. Adamson reported this property is being rehabilitated. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued indefinitely, <br />and the Sub -Standards Director was directed to keep the property under sur- <br />veillance. <br />1820 S. Lafayette. Mr. Adamson reported that as of November 21, 1969, there <br />had been no change in the condition of this property. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued 30 days. <br />Demolition bids: <br />217 W. Woodside. It was moved, seconded and carried that bids for demolition <br />of the structure at 217 W. Woodside be opened and the amounts recorded and if <br />the structure is not down within 30 days, that contract be awarded to the low <br />bidder. Non collusion affidavits were found, -'to be proper. The bids were: <br />A & J Demolition Company $335.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 449.00 <br />
