<br />REQUEST FOR RULING IN REFERENCE TO 10 FT. SET -BACK BUILDING
<br />Chester Krawiec, 2641 W. Western Avenue, on behalf of Anna Krawiec, 2641 W.
<br />Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board stating that
<br />it was the intention of Anna Krawiec to erect a building at this address and
<br />requesting whether or not there was a 10 foot set -back requirement. Upon
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was referred to the City Attorney
<br />for study and recommendation to the Board.
<br />REQUEST TO BURN TREES AND BRUSH AT 701 WEST CHIPPEWA
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Rieth Riley
<br />Construction Co., Inc., P. 0. Box 775, South Bend, Indiana, to burn trees and
<br />brush on the Kaiser Jeep Corporation property at 701 W. Chippewa was approved
<br />on condition that it is done under the supervision,. -of' the Fire Department.
<br />REQUEST TO CONSTRUCT RAMP TO PARKING GARAGE - WYMAN'S
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of George Wyman-& Company,
<br />Inc., 103 N. Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, for permissionto construct a
<br />ramp from the parking garage at the corner of Main and Colfax to the Wyman
<br />property was referred to the City Engineer for review and recommendation to
<br />the Board.
<br />SIDEWALK ENCROACHMENT (CHRISTMAS TREE) - GILBERT"S
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,the Board approved the
<br />request. of Noel H. Yarger of the South Bend Neon Company, 215 W. Garst Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, for permission to place a Chriatmas tree in Gilbert's
<br />parking lot on Michigan Street, which Christmas tree will extend approximately
<br />seven feet over the sidewalk, providing proper insurance coverage is provided.
<br />COMPLAINT - OLIVE STREET SIDEWALK BETWEEN WESTERN AND FORD (CONT. FROM 11/3/69)
<br />In reference to the complaint regarding the sinking of the sidewalk on Olive
<br />Street of Rev. John J. Moskal, Pastor of St. Adalbert Parish, 503 Olive
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, the motion was made, seconded and unanimously
<br />carried, to increase the City's offer to share the expense of replacement of
<br />the Olive Street sidewalk from 50% to 75%.
<br />IN -KIND RENT VOUCHERS FOR NOV-EMBER - A.C.T.I.O.N., INC.
<br />"In -kind" rent vouchers for November, 1969, submitted by A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc.,
<br />for Fire Station #5 in the amount of $169.62 and for Fire Station #7 in the
<br />amount of $200.00 were ordered filed.
<br />AUTHORIZATION OF JOHN E. VANEK TO PAY OUT FUNDSJOR WORK DONE
<br />Written authorization of John E. Vanek, addressed to the Board of Public
<br />Works and Safety for the City to make payment, jointly, to John E. Vanek
<br />and McIntyre & Jones, Inc., for work done by John E. Vanek at Miner and
<br />Eddy (Purchase Order #8100) and at 223 N. Adams Street (Purchase Order #9074),
<br />was ordered filed.
<br />ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE - DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND COUNCIL - CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the holding of a
<br />holiday parade commencing at approximately 9:30 A.M., on November 22, 1969,
<br />under the sponsorship of the South Bend -Mishawaka Area Chamber of Commerce.
<br />Certificate of insurance coverage being on file in the office of the Board.
<br />STREET LIGHT REQUEST - MAIN AND NAVARRE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Memorial
<br />Hospital, 615 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, for a street light
<br />at the corner of Main and Navarre Streets was referred to the Traffic Engineer
<br />for study and recommendation.
<br />STREET LIGHTING - KENSINGTON FARMS, SECTION 5
<br />Action by the Board on the recommendation of Traffic Engineering for street
<br />lighting in Kensington Farms, Section 5 area was postponed until November 17,
<br />1969.
