10/27/69 <br />APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the South Bend Police Department <br />were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further <br />processing: <br />Susan Frances LaFehr <br />Maurice Van Woods <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Mr. J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up: <br />116-118 Chapel Lane. Mr. Adamson reported this pv6perty has been sold; and, <br />upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued <br />one week to permit the Sub -Standards Department to contact the new owner. <br />1815 W. Ford Street. Mr. Adamson reported this property is still open and <br />C nothing further appears to have been done. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the matter was continued two weeks for the owner to <br />complete cleaning up the premises. <br />1024 S. Main Street. Mr. Adamson reported the owner is demolishing this <br />structure. It was moved, seconded and carried that the matter be continued <br />indefinitely and that the property be kept under surveillance of the Sub - <br />Standards Department. <br />740 Frances Street. Mr. Adamson reported the new owner of this property has <br />been given a list of repairs necessary to bring the property up to standard. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week. <br />412 E. Ohio Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this matter was <br />continued two weeks for the relocating of the occupants of this property. <br />Demolition bids opened <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. Bids were: <br />1044 LaSalle Court: <br />John Vanek $1,133.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 824.00 <br />Bryant Exczvating Company 825.00 <br />A & J Demolition Company 895.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that bid be awarded to O'Neal <br />Trucking Company for demolition of the structure at 1044 LaSalle Court on its <br />low bid of $824.00. And contract was executed by the Board. <br />724 S. Rush Street: <br />John Vanek $500.00 <br />A & J Demolition Company 575.80 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 434.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company 430.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that bid be awarded to Bryant <br />Excavating Company on its low bid of $430.00. And contract was executed by <br />the Board. <br />735 W. Jefferson: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $915.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company 831.00 <br />A & J Demolition Company 125.00 (accessory building) <br />John Vanek 807.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that bid be awarded to John <br />Vanek for the demolition of the structures at 735 W. Jefferson on his low <br />bid of $807.00. And contract was executed by the Board. <br />
