9/2/69 <br />6 <br />715 Marietta Street. The owner, Mrs. Lottie King, did not appear. Mr. <br />Adamson stated that as of 8:15 A.M. this morning the building was still <br />open. Mr. Adamson was directed to notify Mrs. King by certified mail <br />that if the building is not closed within seven days, demolition will be <br />undertaken by the Board. <br />1013 Duey Street. Mr. Adamson stated that this structure is open and that <br />rehabilitation has not been started. Wenger Street <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being-rhe date set, demolition bids were opened for the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. Bids were: <br />739 South Bend Avenue. <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $324.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company $470.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition <br />of the premises at 739 South Bend Avenue be awarded to O'Neal Trucking <br />Company on its low bid of $324.00. And contract was executed by the Board. <br />315 W. Garst Street. Only one bid having been received for the demolition <br />of the premises at 315 W. Garst Street, it was moved, seconded and <br />unanimously carried that the bid be returned to the bidder unopened, and the <br />Sub -Standards Director -granted permission to again advertise for bids for <br />the demolition of the premises. <br />Request for extension of time to demolish property - John Vanek <br />Demolition contractor John Vanek appeared before the Board and stated that <br />he had had a break -down in equipment and asked an extension of one week in <br />which to complete the demolition of the premises at 223 N. Adams Street. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted <br />additional time of one week. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3259 - <br />HARTMAN DRIVE -ROSEMARY LANE (LOCAL SEWER)(CONTINUED FROM 8/25/69) <br />Hearing on the assessment roll for the improvement known as the Hartman <br />Drive -Rosemary Lane local sewer, having been continued from August 25, 1969, <br />was further continued until September 8, 1969. <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3301 1969 - E. J. BARANY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following vacation <br />resolution was adopted: <br />"RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The first north and south alley west of Main Street, <br />running from the south line of Indiana Avenue south <br />to the south line of the first east and west alley <br />south of Indiana Avenue. <br />
