Jefferson Blvd. Mr. Adamson stated he had,been called by Sobieski <br />Savings and Loan Association, which owns this property, that they are <br />willing to have the property taken down. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise for bids for de- <br />molition of the property. <br />1601 Longley Street. Mr. Moore, owner of the property, appeared before <br />the Board as requested, and stated he intends to sell the property. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, two weeks time was granted <br />for the owner to secure the building. <br />1820 S. Taylor Street. Mr'. Adamson stated the back door is open, and this <br />is the house that has the bad foundation; that the owner was granted 120 <br />days on March 10, 1969, to make repairs, which have not been made. Mr. <br />Adamson was directed to have the owner appear before the Board .on July 21, <br />1969. <br />1640 Portage Avenue. (greenhouse and power house) Mr. Adamson reported he <br />has received a letter from the owner that he will demolish both of these <br />structures at this address. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, the matter was continued for 30 days for further checking. <br />.„. 739 South Bend Avenue. Mr: Adamson stated nothing further has been done to <br />repair this building and that the gas heater on July 3,1969, still had no <br />vent. Mr. Adamson was directed to immediately notify the occupants of <br />this property of its unsafe condition, and to seek relocation of the <br />occupants as an emergency matter. <br />7202 S. Columbia Street. Mr. Adamson reported this structure has now been <br />demolished. <br />612 E. Ohio Street. Mr. Adamson exhibited to the Board a letter from the <br />owner, Ella White, agreeing to demolition of the premises: Upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried permission was granted to advertise <br />for bids for demolition of the property. <br />1213 Clover Street. Further continuance of one week granted. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties <br />to appear before Board July 28, 1969 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of the Sub - <br />Standards Director for owners of the following sub -standard properties -to <br />appear before the Board on July 28, 1969, was granted: <br />Mrs. Erma Barber - 2502 S. Michigan <br />R. Staunton, c/o Chas. Sweeney, Jr. - Z17 N. St. Peter <br />Mr. and Mrs. Dan Simmons - 402 E. Paris Street <br />Mrs. Luther Turley - 116-118 Chapel Lane <br />and the Clerk was directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />John Blenke, of Blenke Brothers, owners of the properties at 1818 West <br />Indiana Avenue and 4035 South Michigan Street, his attorney, and Myrie <br />Smith, an architect, appeared before the Board. <br />Mr. Stratigos, <br />1818 West Indiana Avenue. The attorney for Mr. Blenke/stated S. L. Anderson, <br />contractor, has been employed to make repairs of the structure at this address, <br />and Mr. Adamson reported a permit has been taken out to rehabilitate the <br />property. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, 60 days <br />additional time was granted to the owner in which to rehabilitate the <br />building. And the Sub -Standards Director was directed to keep the progress <br />under surveillance. <br />4035 S. Michigan Street. The attorney for Mr. Blenke stated this property <br />is owned by the Evergreen Nursing Home, which has been involved in litigation <br />which has now been substantially resolved, and that six months ago a permit <br />was issued for construction at this site. Myrle Smith stated he is the <br />architect for the building, that he has submitted plans and so far as he <br />knows they have been approved; that he is constructing only the walls of the <br />building. Mr. Blenke stated he expects the structure to be completed in <br />six months. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the matter <br />was Continued 60 days, on condition that the owner close the property within <br />one week and remove the debris from the exterior. And the Sub -Standards <br />Director was directed to keep the progress under surveillance. <br />
