f-46 " <br />6/2/69 <br />2119 Bertrand Street. Mrs. L. Lane Jackson, owner of the property, advised <br />Sub -Standards Department she would 'be unable to appear before the Board this <br />date 'as requestec' on account of illness. Matter was continued one week. <br />1223-12232 S. Rush Street. Victor Sellers, owner, did not appear as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson presented a letter from the owner agreeing to have the house de- <br />molished. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted <br />permission to advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />417 St. Vincent Street. Dale Boharic, owner of this property, did not appear <br />as requested. Mr. Adamson stated this is an incompleted prefabricated house <br />started by Midway Home Builders in 1961; tlhat_Atacould be put in good repair <br />but he can get no response from the owner. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise for bids to demolish <br />the structure. Sub -Standards Director was directed to take every means to <br />get the building brought up to standard rather than be demolished. <br />Bids opened:, <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for the demolition of the follow- <br />ing properties, bids were opened and non collusion affidavits were examined <br />and found to be proper. Bids were as follows; <br />129.'F LaPorte Avenue <br />John Vanek - $1065.00 <br />A. Midwest Wrecking & Demolition Co. - 817.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. - 1235.00 <br />Julius O'Neal - 824.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. - 1175.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the building was awarded to A. Midwest Wrecking and Demolition Company at <br />$817.00, that being the lowest and best bid received, subject to appeal being <br />taken by the owner within the next seven days. <br />434-436 E. LaSalle Avenue <br />A & J Demolition'Company - $2775.00 <br />Julius O'Neal - 2675.00 <br />Harvey R. Bryant - 2710.00 <br />John E. Vanek - 2230.00 <br />A. Midwest Wrecking & Demolition Co.- 2487.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the building was awarded to John E. Vanek, at $2230.00, that being the lowest <br />and best bid received, subject to an appeal being taken by the owner within <br />the next seven days. <br />730-732 South Bend Avenue. Mr. Adamson stated nothing has been done to repair <br />this property. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission <br />was granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />130-132 LaPorte. Neither the owner nor his attorney John Humphreys having <br />appeared and nothing further having been heard from the owner, upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted permission to advertise for <br />bids for demolition of the property. <br />1816 S. St. Joseph Street. Mr. Adamson reported 'nothing further has been <br />done to bring these premises up to standard. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, two weeks additional time was granted. <br />621 S. Albert (accessory building). Mr. Adamson stated there is a controversy <br />between Mrs. Donna Skiver and her husband as to who owns this property, each <br />claiming the other to be the owner. Mr;;.Adamson was directed to send notices <br />to both parties. <br />REQUEST OF DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR FOR EXTENSION OF TIME <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request <br />of John Vanek, demolition contractor, for an extension of two weeks_in which to <br />demolish the property at 302 E. Pennsylvania Street on account.of a break -down <br />in machinery. June 7th having been the original date for completion, time was <br />extended to June 21, 1969. <br />
