5/19/69 <br />MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM LEASE <br />Copy of lease Morris Civic Auditorium with James Brown Productions for <br />James Brown Concert on 7May 10, 1969, at a rental of $600.00 was ordered <br />filed. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL - 7/1/69 through 12/31/69. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Purchasing Director to advertise for gasoline and fuel oil for <br />the period 7/1/69 through 12/31/69. June 2, 1969, was set as the time for <br />receiving bids and the Clerk is directed to advertise in the South bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on May 23 and May 30, 1969. <br />PRELIMINARY PLANS FILED <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3`283, 1969 ADOPTED - FELLOWS STREET (.SEWER) <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS APPROVED <br />Clyde E. Williams & Associates, consulting engineers, filed with the Board <br />preliminary plans for the improvement of Fellows Street, from Ireland Road <br />north to Waiters Street, west in Walters Street for approximately 470 feet <br />and along Ireland Road west of Fellows Street for approximately 500 feet <br />Cc by the construction of a local sewer <br />And the Board approves said plans and specifications and adopts Improvement <br />Resolution No. 3283, 1969, for such sewer construction, and fixes 7:30 P.M. <br />on June 10, 1969, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, as the time and <br />place when and where all persons whose property may be affected by such <br />proposed improvement may be heard, and the Board will decide at said time <br />whether the benefits accruing to abutting and adjacent property owners will <br />be equal to,or exceed the estimated cost of said improvement. <br />And the Clerk of the Board is directed to give notice by two weekly publi- <br />cations of the time and place of said hearing. <br />MAL-FUNCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON INNERBELT <br />Traffic Engineer Clem F. Hazinski reports the continuous mal-function of <br />signal controllers on the innerbelt at Chapin and Washington, Chapin and <br />Colfax and at Chapin and LaSalle and recommends that the supplier of this <br />equipment, Welsbach Corporation, 445 N. Holmes Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, <br />be notified of such mal-function. <br />Mr. Crumpacker moved that the Welsbach Corporation be directed to repair <br />or replace this equipment pursuant to their contract. The motion was <br />seconded and unanimously carried. And the matter was referred to the <br />Engineering Department to contact the Welsbach Corporation. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Director for the following traffic regulations <br />to be put into effect: <br />Stop sign and post on "Metal Mation" Drive- 4300 block S. Main, west <br />one block to newly constructed Lafayette. <br />Speed limit 30 sign at 2613 W. Sample Street and Industrial and Sample <br />facing east; and additional speed limit signs entering the area from <br />intersecting streets. <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS APPROVED - FAIRFAX ESTATES <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, plans and specifications <br />for improvements to Fairfax Estates, Second Section, were approved. <br />EXCAVATION BOND CANCELLED - WOODRUFF & SONS INC. <br />Cancellation of excavation bond #27S48269 BC as of June 9, 1969, carried <br />by Woodruff and Sons, Inc., said bond having expired June 9, 1968, upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, was approved. <br />SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER'S BOND - MARIA MIA VAN KIRK <br />Certificate continuing bond for special police officer Maria Mia Van Kirk <br />to 5/27/70 was ordered filed. <br />
