4/14/69 <br />IN -KIND CONTRIBUTION VOUCHERS FOR APRIL RENT - ACTION, INC. <br />In -kind contribution vouchers covering estimated rental value for April, <br />1969, as follows,were ordered filed: <br />Fire Station #5 - 1040 L.W.E. - $169.58 <br />Fire Station #7 - 803 N. Notre Dame - $200.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT ON REQUEST TO BURN GRASS <br />Upon motion made., seconded and carried, the recommendation of the Fire De- <br />partment was accepted and the request of Henry R. Williams, 61465 Brightwood <br />Lane, South Bend, to burn grass at 4223 S. Main Street, South Bend, was <br />denied for the reason that such burning would set an undesirable precedent <br />for burning grass, thus leading to the open burning of other trash and debris. <br />LEASE - MORR IS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />Copy of lease Morris Civic Auditorium for a religious concert 4/9/69 at a <br />rental of $400.00 was reviewed and ordered filed. <br />STATISTICAL REPORT FOR MARCH, 1969 - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Statistical report for March 1969 for the Police Department was reviewed and <br />ordered filed. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS RECOMMENDED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />following recommendations for traffic regulations: <br />One hour time limit and visitor signs on the north side of 200 <br />block of W. Bronson Street replaced with 30 minute parking limit. <br />Fifteen minute time limit in front of 635 S. Main Street. <br />No parking signs in front of 410 N. Notre Dame Avenue. <br />Stop sign on Kosciuszko at Sample where local street intersects with <br />an artertal street. <br />On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, action bn the following <br />was deferred until April 21: <br />30 mile per hour speed limit signs on York Road. <br />25 mile per hour speed limit sign on Berkshire. <br />PETITION TO OPEN ALLEY APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the opening <br />of an alley between Olive and Fremont Streets, from Marquette to Keller Street, <br />petitioned by Mrs. James Robison, 1747 N. Olive Street and 11 others and <br />filed September 9, 1968. Some objection to the opening of the alley was <br />voiced but is being opened at the insistence of the petitioners. <br />PUBLIC AUCTION OF PUMPER TRUCK AND DEVELOPING SINK 4/7/69 <br />A 1954 American LaFrance G.P.M. Pumper Truck, serial No. 15005, Engine No. <br />58430, and one brown Fiberline developing sink, 4411 wide x 36" high x 100" <br />6ng having been offered for sale at auction on April 7, 1969, and the only <br />bids received being $250.00 for the pumper truck and $25.00 for the developing <br />sink, acceptance of the bids was taken under advisement and it is now <br />recommended that the pumper truck not be sold but donated to the Park Depart- <br />ment for Storyland Zoo, and that the developing sink not be sold but donated to <br />the South Bend Civic Art Association. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board approved such donations. And the matter was referred to the Legal <br />Department for the preparation of Resolutions for such gifts. <br />1 <br />r, <br />
