4/7/69 <br />May 23 and 24, 1969, at the Bendix Corporation gates on May 23 and 24, 1969, <br />was approved, permission having also been granted by the Charitable <br />SolicitaTidds Committee for such sales. <br />REQUEST TO BURN DEAD GRASS <br />The request of Henry R. Williams, 61465 Brightwood Lane, South Bend, Indiana <br />to burn dead grass on a lawn at 4223 S. Main Street was referred to the Fire <br />Department for recommendation. <br />DEDICATION REQUESTED <br />Following study and recommendation,of the City Engineer, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the following letter of request was submitted to the St. -- <br />Joseph County Board of Aviation Commissioners: <br />"St. Joseph County April 7, 1969. <br />Board of Aviation Commissioners <br />St. Joseph County Airport <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />C3 Atten: Edward V. Minczeski, President <br />Gentlemen: <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend <br />requests the St. Joseph County Board of Aviation Commissioners <br />to dedicate to the City of South Bend, for a public right of way, <br />a strip of land 60 feet in width, running from Sheridan Avenue <br />to the north end of Commerce Drive along the north edge of the <br />Airport Industrial Park Phase II. <br />The purpose of this public right of way is to provide circulation <br />of traffic between Phase I and Phase 11 of the Industrial Park. <br />Attached you will find a legal description and survey of the <br />dedication requested. <br />In consideration of the dedication of this strip of land, the <br />City of South Bend agrees to the following conditions: <br />1. The City, through the Industrial Foundation, will bear <br />the expense of installing a right of way fence along <br />the northern and western boundary of the proposed <br />dedication. <br />2. Bickel <br />Doris Allen, Clerk" <br />REMOVAL OF TIME LIMIT ZONE APPROVED - KOSCI-USZKO STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />of the Traffic Director for the removal of the one hour parking limit on the <br />east side of Kosciuszko Street one-half block north of Sample Street, and <br />that parking be prohibited in that half block. <br />AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TWO 505,000 LB. GVW TANDEM AXLE CAB AND CHASSIS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />of Street Commissioner Richard B. Gartner for award of contract for two <br />50,000 lb. GVW tandem -axle Cab and Chassis, with allowance for trade-ins, <br />at a net price of $17,526.00, to Brook Motor Sales, Inc. <br />
