4/7/69 May 23 and 24, 1969, at the Bendix Corporation gates on May 23 and 24, 1969, was approved, permission having also been granted by the Charitable SolicitaTidds Committee for such sales. REQUEST TO BURN DEAD GRASS The request of Henry R. Williams, 61465 Brightwood Lane, South Bend, Indiana to burn dead grass on a lawn at 4223 S. Main Street was referred to the Fire Department for recommendation. DEDICATION REQUESTED Following study and recommendation,of the City Engineer, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following letter of request was submitted to the St. -- Joseph County Board of Aviation Commissioners: "St. Joseph County April 7, 1969. Board of Aviation Commissioners St. Joseph County Airport South Bend, Indiana C3 Atten: Edward V. Minczeski, President Gentlemen: The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend requests the St. Joseph County Board of Aviation Commissioners to dedicate to the City of South Bend, for a public right of way, a strip of land 60 feet in width, running from Sheridan Avenue to the north end of Commerce Drive along the north edge of the Airport Industrial Park Phase II. The purpose of this public right of way is to provide circulation of traffic between Phase I and Phase 11 of the Industrial Park. Attached you will find a legal description and survey of the dedication requested. In consideration of the dedication of this strip of land, the City of South Bend agrees to the following conditions: 1. The City, through the Industrial Foundation, will bear the expense of installing a right of way fence along the northern and western boundary of the proposed dedication. 2. The City of South Bend will grade and improve a 24 foot asphaltic concrete pavement within this right of way. Your consideration of this request will be very much appreciated. Bickel Doris Allen, Clerk" REMOVAL OF TIME LIMIT ZONE APPROVED - KOSCI-USZKO STREET Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Director for the removal of the one hour parking limit on the east side of Kosciuszko Street one-half block north of Sample Street, and that parking be prohibited in that half block. AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TWO 505,000 LB. GVW TANDEM AXLE CAB AND CHASSIS Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation of Street Commissioner Richard B. Gartner for award of contract for two 50,000 lb. GVW tandem -axle Cab and Chassis, with allowance for trade-ins, at a net price of $17,526.00, to Brook Motor Sales, Inc.
