<br />A regular.meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 10:00
<br />A.M. on February 3, 1969, with all members present. The minutes of the
<br />previous meeting were reviewed and approved.
<br />OPEN BIDS - 8-CHANNEL DUAL RECORDER FOR ALARM STATION
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for 8-channel dual recorder, the
<br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-
<br />County News on January 17 and January 24, 1969, which were read and found to
<br />be proper,.
<br />The only bid received was from Dictaphone Corporation, 60455 U. S. #30,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, which was opened. Non collusion affidavit and bid
<br />bond, in the amount of 10% of the total bid, were found to be sufficient.
<br />Bid was as follows:
<br />1 Premier cabinet, one speaker panel, one Model
<br />082 8-channel dual transport multi -channel
<br />recorder -reproducer.
<br />Total bid---------------------------$3,665.00
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid was referred to
<br />the City Engineer for review and recommendation to the Board.
<br />OPEN BIDS FOR DUMP BODIES COMPLETE WITH HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for nine dump bodies complete
<br />with hydraulic systems mounted on trucks, the Clerk tendered proofs of
<br />publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News on January 17
<br />and January 24, 1969, which were read and found to be sufficient. I
<br />The only bid received was from Stanley Enterprises, Inc., 2808 Tucker Drive,
<br />South Bedd, Indiana, which was opened. Non collusion affidavit was found
<br />to be proper. Certified checks in the amount of $2000.00 and $200.00 `
<br />accompanying the'bid were found to be sufficient. The bid being as follows:
<br />8 Dump bodies for a total of--------------$19,332.00
<br />(alternate for a total of $18,532.00)
<br />1 Dump body for a total of ---------------- 1,157.00
<br />Total bid-------------------$20,489.00
<br />Upon motion made, se m nded and unanimously carried, the Bid was referred
<br />to the City Engineer for review and recommendation to the Board.
<br />OPEN BIDS - COMMUNICATIONS MONITORING INSTRUMENT - RADIO DEPARTMENT
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for a communications monitoring
<br />instrument for the Radio Maintenance Department, the Clerk tendered proofs,
<br />of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News on January
<br />17 and January 24, 1969, which were read and found to be sufficient.
<br />The only bid received was from Cushman Electronics, Inc., 166 San Lazaro,
<br />Sunnyvale, California, 94086, which bid was opened. Non collusion affidavit
<br />was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by certified check in the
<br />amount of $399.33 which was found to be sufficient. The bid was as follows:
<br />1 Cushman Electronics, Model CE-3, one Model 302,
<br />one Model 303, one Model 305, one zipper cover,
<br />one CE-3 antenna, ten spare fuses, plus freight
<br />or $12.33. F.O.B. destination, total bid------$3,993.33
<br />Delivery 11 weeks after receipt of order.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid was referred to
<br />the City Engineer for review and recommendation to the Board.
