50 5 <br />3/29/71 <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3335 - MARIE J. PFEIL <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll in <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3335 for the vacation of: <br />The first east -west alley between Navarre and Marion <br />Streets from Michigan Street east 165 feet to the first <br />north -south alley. Alley to be vacated is between Lots <br />126 and 127 in the Original Plat of South Bend. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri County News on March 5, March 12 and March,19, 1971, which were read <br />and found to be sufficient. No remonstrators having appeared and no <br />written remonstrances having been received, it was moved, seconded and <br />unanimously carried that the assessment roll in llkatt6n,1esolution No. <br />3335 be approved as presented and said vacation proceedings in all things <br />ratified and confirmed and the property vacated. <br />PETITION FILED TO VACATE ALLEY - DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />The Department of Redevelopment, 1200 County City Building, South Bend, <br />Indiana files petition to vacate: <br />the east -west alley between Western Avenue and Monroe <br />Street, from the east property line of the north -south <br />alley to the west property line of S. Michigan Street., <br />Upon motion made., seconded and carried the petition was referred to the <br />Engineering Department and the Area Plan Commission simultaneously for <br />study and recommendation. <br />TOPICS AGREEMENT SIGNED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and, unanimouslyi:-carri°ed.s Traffic Operations <br />Program for Increasing Capacity and Safety (TOPICS) Agreement between the <br />State of Indiana, by and through its State Highway Commission, and the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, by and through its Board of Public Works and <br />Safety, was approved and signed by the Board as presented. And the Clerk <br />was directed to forward the same to the Indiana State Highway Commission, <br />Indianapolis, Indiana, for execution by that Department. <br />REQUEST OF BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - PROJECT S.O.A.R. <br />A letter from J. W. McClintock, Chairman, Project S.O.A.R. (Save Our <br />American Resources), c/o Indiana Bell Telephone Company, 307 S. Main <br />Street, South Bend,,indiana, on behalf of the Tri Valley Council of <br />Boy Scouts of America was ordered filed. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, City Engineer Lloyd S. Taylor was authorized to work with the <br />Chairman of S.O.A.R. in connection with their project. <br />REQUEST TO SELL POPPIES - VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST NO_1167 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the request of Post No. 1167, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1047 Lincolnway <br />East, South Bend, Indiana, to sell poppies on the public sidewalks in the <br />downtown area May 21 and 22, 1971. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommenda- <br />tion of the Traffic Engineering Department for the following traffic <br />regulations: <br />Install a stop sign and post on Lawton Street at Olive Street. <br />Install two-hour parking right and left arrow signs and posts at <br />east property line and west property line of 3010 W. Roger Street. <br />
