3/22/71 1225 N. Olive Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported as of 3/19/71 this building remained open and the debris still remained in the yard. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was con- tinued one week, and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to notify the owner that unless the property is closed and the debris removed within that time permission will be granted for demolition. 832 S. Marietta, Street. At the request of the owner for additional time in which to try to sell this property, the matter was continued one week. Demolition bids opened This being the date set, bids for demolition of the following structures were opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were as follows: 855 S. Clinton Street: O'Neal,,Trucking Company $749.00 Midwest Demolition Co. $773.00 E & D Company $895.00 Bryant Excavating Co. $668.00 Vanek Excavating Co. $5 46.00 It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition of the structure at 855 S. Clinton Street be awarded to Vanek Excavating Company on its low bid of $546.00. 227 Milton Street: Midwest Demolition Co. $431.00 Vanek Excavating Co. $413.00 B & J Demolition Co. $470.00 Bryant Excavating Co. $668.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $500.00 E & B Company $492.00 It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition of the structure at 227 Milton Street be awarded to Vanek Excavating Company on its low bid of $413.00. 918 Marietta Street: Bryant Excavating Company $628.00 E & D Company $823.00 Vanek Excavating Company $505.00 Midwest Demolition Corp. $506.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $684.00 It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition.of the structure at 227 Milton Street be awarded to Midwest Demolition Corporation on its bid of $506.00. COMPLAINT - EDWIN WEAVER Edwin Weaver appeared before the Board and complained of the condition in which the property was left at 735 S. Camden Street by the demolition contractor. Since the demolition was done by a private contractor, Mr. Weaver was advised to contact his land contract holder. Mr. Weaver also complained of the tagging of two trucks in his yard as abandoned or junk vehicles and was ad- vised of his responsibility under the Abandoned Vehicle Ordinance of,the City of South Bend. CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR STREET MATERIALS Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the Street Commissioner on the bids received for street materials March 8, 1971, and contracts were awarded as follows:
