3/22/71 <br />1225 N. Olive Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported as of 3/19/71 <br />this building remained open and the debris still remained in the yard. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was con- <br />tinued one week, and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to notify <br />the owner that unless the property is closed and the debris removed within <br />that time permission will be granted for demolition. <br />832 S. Marietta, Street. At the request of the owner for additional time <br />in which to try to sell this property, the matter was continued one week. <br />Demolition bids opened <br />This being the date set, bids for demolition of the following structures <br />were opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids <br />were as follows: <br />855 S. Clinton Street: <br />O'Neal,,Trucking Company $749.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $773.00 <br />E & D Company $895.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $668.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Co. $5 46.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 855 S. Clinton Street be awarded to Vanek Excavating Company <br />on its low bid of $546.00. <br />227 Milton Street: <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $431.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Co. $413.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $470.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $668.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $500.00 <br />E & B Company $492.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 227 Milton Street be awarded to Vanek Excavating Company on <br />its low bid of $413.00. <br />918 Marietta Street: <br />Bryant Excavating Company $628.00 <br />E & D Company $823.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Company $505.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Corp. $506.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $684.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that contract for demolition.of the <br />structure at 227 Milton Street be awarded to Midwest Demolition Corporation <br />on its bid of $506.00. <br />COMPLAINT - EDWIN WEAVER <br />Edwin Weaver appeared before the Board and complained of the condition in which <br />the property was left at 735 S. Camden Street by the demolition contractor. <br />Since the demolition was done by a private contractor, Mr. Weaver was advised <br />to contact his land contract holder. Mr. Weaver also complained of the <br />tagging of two trucks in his yard as abandoned or junk vehicles and was ad- <br />vised of his responsibility under the Abandoned Vehicle Ordinance of,the City <br />of South Bend. <br />CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR STREET MATERIALS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Street Commissioner on the bids received for street <br />materials March 8, 1971, and contracts were awarded as follows: <br />
