<br />WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DEPARTMENT - FEBRUARY, 1971 REPORT
<br />The report of the Weights and Measures Department for the month of February,
<br />1971, was reviewed and ordered filed.
<br />STREET DEPARTMENT - REQUEST TO ATTEND SLURRY SEAL SEMINAR. WACO. TEXAS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried,the Board approved the request of
<br />R. B. Gartner, Street Commissioner, to attend a slurry seal seminar in Waco,
<br />Texas, along with F. Coleman from March 23 to March 25, 1971.
<br />COMPLAINT - MRS. ESTHER LITOW
<br />Mrs. Esther Litow, 106 E. Angela Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before
<br />the Board and complained that she was unable to rent her building at 535 S.
<br />Taylor Street because the electrical inspector would not approve the wiring.
<br />Forrest West, Building Commissioner, appeared before the Board and stated
<br />it is reported to him that the wiring is not in good condition but that he
<br />will have the house reinspected and advise her of the finding.
<br />AGREEMENT SIGNED-- PBX SYSTEM
<br />The motion was made, seconded and carried that the City of South Bend enter
<br />into an agreement with the Indiana Bell Telephone Company for a complete
<br />special emergency reporting PBX System, subject to the approval of the Common
<br />Council. And the Legal Department is directed to prepare a resolution for
<br />the consideration of the Common Council, and to prepare an ordinance for the
<br />appropriation of the necessary funds.

<br />damages and assessment of benefits in Vacation Resolution No. 3336 for the
<br />vacation of:
<br />The east -west alley between Tasher Avenue.and Jennings
<br />Avenue from the east ,i-ine of Lot 19 to the west line of
<br />Lot 27 in Crestview First Addition. Also, Jennings Avenue
<br />from the east line of Lot 19 to the west line of Lot 27
<br />in Crestview First Addition.
<br />Reserving the rights and easements of all utilities and the
<br />Municipal City.of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and
<br />maintain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the
<br />following: electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface
<br />water control structures and ditches, within the vacated
<br />right of way, unless such rights are released by the
<br />individual utilities.
<br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
<br />vacation:
<br />Lot A and Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of
<br />Crestview First Addition. Also, Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 89 9,
<br />10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 in Crestview Second Addition
<br />unrecorded.
