<br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3333, 1970 ADOPTED - JEROME F. CLAEYS
<br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF7PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the
<br />following:
<br />The first north and south alley west of Taylor Street
<br />running north from South Street to the first east and
<br />west alley north of South Street. Also, the first
<br />east and west alley north of South Street running
<br />west from'Taylor Street to 152'.56 feet west of Taylor
<br />Street.
<br />Reserving the rights and easements of all utilities and the
<br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any
<br />facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric,
<br />telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and
<br />ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are re-
<br />leased by the individual Utilities.
<br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially
<br />affected by such vacation:
<br />Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Touhey and Hagerty's Sub. of B.O.L.
<br />59, and the remainder of the area bounded by South Street
<br />on the south, Scott Street on the west, Western Avenue on
<br />the north and Taylor Street on the east. '
<br />. Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 8tht day'
<br />of January, 1971 and on the 15.0 day of January, 1971, in the South
<br />Bend Tribune and the Tri County News.
<br />This Board, at its office, on the 18th day of January, 1971,
<br />at 9:30 o'clock, A.M., will hear and receive remonstrances from all
<br />persons interested in or affected by these proceedings.

<br />PETITION FOR SIDEWALK - N. IRONWOOD DRIVE - JOHN HEISLER JR.
<br />Mrs. John Heisler, Jr., 725 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana, appeared
<br />before the Board to file a petition to improve North Ironwood Drive, from Bader
<br />to the Rockne Drive Corby Street intersection, by the construction of a public
<br />sidewalk according to Barrett Law.
<br />There was discussion regarding the lack of cooperation of residents to remove
<br />encroaching shrubbery on public right of way, and this will be'discussed with
<br />the Park Department which has jurisdiction over parkway rights of way.
<br />The motion was made, seconded and carried to refer the petition to the
<br />Engineering Department for review and recommendation.
<br />PURCHASE ORDER FOR PARTITIONS - 14TH FLOOR COUNTY CITY BUILDING
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the
<br />issuance of a purchase order in the amount of $1163.00 for partitions on the
<br />14th floor of the County City Building to accommodate the CAMPS Program
<br />from the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund.
<br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SLURRY MACHINES
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of the
<br />City Engineer for permission to advertise for two slurry machines. January 11,
<br />1971 was set as the time for receiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to
